I have tinnitus and they help cut down on making it worse (I still use ear plugs and sometimes ear plugs WITH earphones for shooting extended periods of time). stupid me went to way too many concerts when I was younger and didn't think about properly protecting my ears.

theoretically speaking, I don't like the idea of blowing my eardrums completely out if I had to fire a gun inside my home in a self defense situation, so I keep a suppressor pretty much permanently on my bedside handgun. I have fired a handgun indoors before and it can be crippling loud and disorienting.

I also appreciate the added weight factor for handguns. I wouldn't say that recoil is bad for common calibers (9mm, .45acp), but having a suppressor really helps for knocking the felt recoil back a little bit.

A suppressed 9mm is a poofball gun. Like shooting 38spl out of those 3lb revolvers.

so what are some options for a suppressor ready 9mm? cz has a p-07 all ready and also a p-01 omega. springfield has an xd-m all set up in fde, id prefer black though. id toss a threaded barrel in my 92a1, but i cant find tall sights for it. id prefer to keep it under $700 or so and it has to have a good trigger or be able to be upgraded.

If you watch pretty sure those can be had sub $700 on sale. EDIT: They are evidently cheap all the time. $640 all over gunbroker.

im leaning towards one of the cz's, i just wish they were black. that grey is going to look pretty bad after a couple of mags. i suppose i could always get it ceracoated if its too hard to keep cleanish. whats the word on the omega trigger vs whats in that? i have a .40 p-07 with the omega and it needed a lot of parts to get it where i wanted it. tons of creep and super heavy da out of the box.

I will let someone else talk about that...I am not the best on triggers.

The shape of the CZ trigger is the only oddity I will call out. Works fine for me, but I have skinny fingers.

Stock hammer-fired CZ triggers are bad, Omega or not doesn't matter. I hear Omega triggers may be easier to work on?

Other options include both hammer and striker-fired HKs, various Sigs, Glocks, etc. literally any wonder-nine you want.

For suppressor ready guns the Walther ppq has an option with a threaded barrel and I think the sight is already raised for it.

scope has to be really high on the kids cz 455 to clear the bolt handle so the cheekweld was terrible. needed a riser but didnt want to drill into the stock and have the knobs sticking out. ended up tossing a magpul ak riser in boiling water for a couple minutes and zip tied it to the stock to stretch it to the right width. ended up securing it with 3m uhb tape. doesnt look terrible for $13.

Holy crap. Mine doesn't sit anywhere near that high, and clears my bolt handle just fine.

The bolt has about 3/16” as it sits.

I really want to get a 50mm scope because they gather light so damn well, but that is my worst fear right there. I'm pretty sure the cheek weld on my savage would become a chin weld.

I've got a 50mm on my Marlin 795. Originally used medium height rings because I thought it would hit up front. It didn't, and it was so high I couldn't adjust the scope low enough at 50 yards

Ended up getting this mount

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

worked perfectly
