So I might be getting one of these in the V6, 4WD trim. I know this is a Suabru forum, but does anyone know of a good Toyota dealership in MA, NH, RI, ME or VT to buy one from? The Forester and Outback may not have enough room for my needs, or else I'd definitely stay w/ Subaru - just not a fan of the Tribeca.

If its Toyota then who else but Boch. It is the best and the biggest. Their service is impeccable too.Highly recommended.

It's going down. Insurance called wife's 02 RAV4 a total loss. BTW, that car was a piece of crap. FWD, high center of gravity, 140 HP motor (that's not at the wheels). RIP. She bought when we first started dating; didn't even bother asking me for an opinion on it. How we're still together is beyond me. OK, it looks like Highlander, Forester XT, or Outback 3.6R. Supposedly, Subaru doesn't sell many of the 3.6Rs.

My mom has a Highlander, its a very spacious car and even has seats in the WAY back (something to consider). Her car before it was a Rav4, so I can relate to how much it sucked (even though I learned how to drive in it). I like the highlander, but to be honest I think there's better out there, But then again I'm spoiled by my first car which was my dads old Land Rover Discovery. Besides its gas guzzling, no SUV I've driven can touch it (except that I rolled it , ****ing high center of gravity...).
However out of the cars you've picked I would go with the highlander. My mom is a real estate broker so we move around alot of furniture and you'd be surprised what we've fit in her car. However it isn't that big of a profile on the street and is definitely not obnoxiously massive.

strangly I was reasonably impressed by my moms Rav-4, I just didnt expect it to handle as well as it did. Totally sux for power, but the L package handles surprisingly well, and clutch is pretty comfy... that said its not my subie. But if your in the market for toyota, My parents have had great luck at dartmouth toyota, they threw in all sorts of extra stuff like oil changes, etc... andt they put up with my poking holes in their uber reliably, comfortable, and entirely uninspired, boring cars... sry I couldnt help myself, lol

I would say Boch too even though their sales staff can be pretty freaking annoying. Friend bought a Camry back in March 2009. It was specified that all-weather mats are included in the deal. Even though my friend didn't pick up the car a full week after the deal was done, SORRY, all-weather mats have not been ordered yet. We had to go back another week later to get it. Parts couldn't get the mats ready in 5 business days? I mean seriously? The car was paid in full on the day it was bought!

But there's one thing they do well, they'll make your sale happen. Keep lowballing, they want your money and happily take less of it. Volume seller and looking for manufacturer bonuses, they want the sales numbers.

Not looking to spend much more than $30k for a stupid family car - got to make sure there will be enough left for my M3 (or something like that) down the road. Priorities, my man. Planning to keep a Highlander out all day this weekend from Boch; that might just seal the deal. Drove the XT this week. It's relatively fun to drive, when you consider it's not a manual anymore. I will say that all the magazine reviews complaining about it not having a fifth gear is dead on. That and it's too small for the wife to take kids AND their friends places.

We have a new Highlander SE and it is by far the best all-around vehicle we've ever owned. Used inventory is hit or miss so I'd be more focused on finding the right one (miles, condition, clean Carfax, etc.) then working the best deal you can. I highly recommend Central Maine Motors in Waterville, ME, but that's a ride from where you are. Not sure what they have for inventory but you could check them out.

Dusting this thread off to see if Boch and Chambers Toyota are still better dealerships to buy from in MA. We’re replacing our 2011 Outback with the RAV4 Prime. Some dealers are taking deposits and saying they’ll be selling at MSRP. Not thrilled about paying MSRP but our Outback is getting on in years and more importantly mileage (almost 185,000).
