Talking What should I do with my car since the Forester Turbo will be here in April / May?

Ok, so I'm a sell out who needs alot more room to work with. the Forester Turbo is a 260HP version of the 2.5 Liter Turbo, hence my silly Super-Grocery Getter will eat the WRX

I like the 04 Impreza Redesign, but the 2.0 Turbo vs. the 2.5 Turbo is a big sway towards the Forester. The suspension is what is killing me right now, since i'm so used to my incredibly nimble Impreza, I'm not sure if I can deal with something that doesn't handle as well.

Either way, I need something bigger then my Impreza coupe, I need to move surveying equipment, Mountain Bikes, etc. I figured the forester would be better a this since it has alot more room.

Either way, what should I do with the car I have modded all to hell?!? It is currently the fastest N/A 2.2 liter in the country as far as I know (the only Impreza to break 16 second 1/4 mile times on the registry)
Should I trade my hoods with another L owner who wants an open scoop, put the L bumper on and sell the RS bumper fogs, blinkers, beam, etc.
I'm going to have to leave the RS suspension on due to the fact I tossed my L springs and Struts.

So what should I do with it?
How much do you think I could get for a 1997, Black, 5 Speed, AWD, Power everything, alarm, trunk lighted, indiglos, Modded, Impreza Coupe with about 86K on it?

Is there a release about this somewhere. Power means nothing if it's geared high. They could gear it more for towing/utility more than acceleration.

Any numbers on it yet (1/4mi etc...)

1: Trailer hitch and hitch mounted bike rack. I've done that for years.

2: Roof rack for the tripod and anything else you can't fit inside.

3: Cost you $500 but no "new car" tax or expense and you don't have to feel like you're in a truck.

Oh, and $10 for lots of bungie cords.

don't think that the Forester can't handle nimbly.

with the right suspension, it could be pretty sweet. My dad's stock Forester felt much like my Impreza did when it was stock.

I was thinking a set of Ground Control Coilovers would be cool to lift the car for offroad use and drop it for Auto-X, ride on some 17's Plus it would be awesome to see everyones faces as a Forester tears it up on the Auto-X course!

And if you haven't seen the interior of the new Forester, check it out! It's sweet! 27" sunroof, heated seats!

The best thing is the rear 12V Jack, I can hook up my laptop and upload all my GPS coordinates without having to go back to the station.

Also, I have some cool plans for the interior, with the huge flip up center map compartment I want to put a 6" LCD screen and a DVD player or PS2 in the glove box, Replace the 6 disc changer with a single DIN CD / MP3 Player and the single DIN pocket with A/F guage and EGT, then a Pillar mounted boost guage.

I figured I went a different route with my Impreza L, I'll go a different road with a sweet ass Forester.

I'm just trying to figure out if I should sell my car as a "project car" and leave the open scoop, RS bumper, etc.
So if you know anyone who wants a car like this gimme a yell!

Bry.

I'll know for sure by this weekend, Subaru is flying my friend Jeremy (jetemac) from Suburban Subaru (since they sold the most amount of WRX's in CT) to NC to test drive the STi and Turbo Forester on a track!!! Lucky Bastard!!!

So he'll tell me when he gets back if it's a 2.5 or 2.0, it was a 2.5 at the conference in Chicago, so unless they took it out of the prototype...? Subaru Global has it as a 2.5 Turbo... so why would they put a torque-less 2.0 in their heaviest car?

Don't think that Forester's can't handle nimbly. Check out www.4ester.net for options. My daily-driven Forester can keep up with slightly modded 5-speed RSs in corners and straight lines, and it is an Auto.

Ya, the more I look at it, 17" Rays Rims, some adjustible struts, Ground Control Coilovers to lift or drop the car, 20mm front and rear sway bars and Front and rear strut tower braces will make a nice handling set-up, capable of crushing alot of Impreza owners

So I'm excited now!

Hmm, well I know it wouldn't help body roll, but how about just a set of STi struts with stock springs? That'd make a nice ride.
