Default Fresh Roasted Coffee Thread #3: now with 100% more vendor status, 50% less bootleg

Some of you may recognize me, but for those who don't: I'm a small, independent coffee roaster, who got my start here on NASIOC when, in 2004, I traded fresh roasted coffee for a RSB (rear sway bar) for my 2003 Impreza TS. I was apprenticing as a roaster at the time, but demand grew, and I ended up selling my mountain bike to fund the purchase of my own rudimentary roaster, and it's just been going ever since.

There's a huge thread in the Off Topic section about my coffee, but now it's time to make it official, and join the vendor section. Feel free to join in there to ask questions on gear, brewing, etc.

https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2756828

What is it?

The best beans in the world, roasted to order, and shipped to you by 2 day USPS. Most people have never had quality-grown beans, roasted well, brewed fresh. The difference is astonishing.

Why?

Cause it tastes damn good and wakes you up in the morning! But aside from that, a majority of my beans are socially responsible, with more being paid per lb than market value, to ensure the workers can actually survive, and promote better growing practices.

How?

www.westcoastroasting.com

Roast days - Mon and Thurs evenings (barring holidays or personal issues)

Ship Days - Tues and Fri mornings

Shipping Cost -

- 1-2lbs - $4.95 (actual cost $7.xx)
- 3-6lbs - $9.95 (actual cost $13.65)
- 7-9lbs - $13.95 (actual cost $18.95)

Yes, shipping is discounted up front.

NASIOC discount - 'rustleandhustle' for 15% off for the next month, after which it will be 10%.

No clue, but I went to give you some vendor feedback and it says that I have to put in a deal url. Maybe a Deal thread saying what your current coupon is...

How much money does it take to be "nasioc's official coffee"?

I'll bid $5 for the privilege. Someone's gotta do it...

I heard the requirements were just a low moral standard and willingness to please.

Which one do you recommend for someone who dislikes fruity/tart coffee? I like beans that do well in a French press and that taste good black.

Also, dat price. I thought $15/lb was a lot. Hopefully it's 66% tastier than what I've been drinking.

The price is worth it. Trust me. He knows what he's doing with that roaster.

Hey, they're all good! I'm not doing bleeding edge trendy roasts. A lot of roasters currently are copying Nordic style roasting, without knowing what they're doing, and it's not as simple as just 'roast it less'.

Anyway, my Sumatra is pretty damn awesome, and I think you'd enjoy it. As far as price, my coffee is less than $1/cup, roasted to order, and including shipping. For reference, 7/11 coffee is $1.69/cup or more, and a redbull is $2.

Sounds great. Just put in the order for two pounds. I didn't realize I was looking at the most expensive of the types. $18/lb is totally kosher.

Looking forward to it, thanks!

Something else to consider in the pricing is he's selling full pounds. My local roasters are in that ballpark, but they're selling 12oz bags.

New coffee alert! "...sorghum sweetness, herbal heather notes reminiscent of good single malt highland scotch (for those who imbibe), and just gorgeous however you choose to brew it..."

It got here so fast! And it's so fresh - it smells amazing. They're not really my types (still a little on the fruity/tart side for me), but no fault of yours. And I could definitely get used to them.

Thanks for the wonderful customer service and fast shipping. I'll be back.

This new Colombia was the first full bag of coffee I ever bought, due to growing demand from nasioc. I thought I'd like to revisit it, and upon cupping, I was right: it's fantastic.
