Definitely a bigger turbine housing. If you do go with cams and supporting head mods, then the biggest housing and 8-8,500 redline :P
Should make quite a bit more power, as you'll drop backpressure with a bigger housing and you're only at 31psi.

Went with some cams and very mild bowl porting, will see how she does then maybe move to a bigger turbine housing!

If you are going for retune after head mods I'd also second getting bigger rear housing so you don't pay for tuning twice. I went from .86 to 1.03 and what an amazing difference, lower back pressure, better drivability everywhere and no roll over at high rpm with only 150rpm spool loss.

I have to reiterate what others are saying here. If you've got dyno/tuning resources at your disposal, absolutely, play/learn all you want, You WILL want the bigger housing as your manifold backpressure will be through the roof, you'll keep upping the boost, and the returns will be poor at best.
With this size turbo, the small housing shouldn't even be offered IMO, unless your running twin turbos on a V8 with a 8psi target. Middle housing for street/track use on 93. Large housing for good fuel (C or E) with street use, and for track use regardless of fuel type. This is what will net you the best peak power as well as the most area under the curve, especially with an engine that's built for flow (RPM) use. |

Yeah as others said it will save you from having to go back to the Dyno and retune all over again etc. I’m excited to see your final results. I predict it will be a monster and still have outstanding spool |

Definitely do the .93 or higher. I just had mine dynoed at 638WHP at 28psi on the G30-900 .83(at basically sea level in FL). I can list the build, but may start another thread under the proven power bragging. However I have GSC S2 cams, GSC Valves and valvetrain and a process west intake manifold. Tuner tried to make it more linear, but definitely being chocked out and wasnt able to capitalize on those mods as much. I think in the future I am going to change the housing or maybe do the G35. Hope this helps in you decide.

I've purchased the 0.83AR Housing. I've got GSC S2 cams and Beehive Springs going in, mild bowl porting, along with a 12mm oil pump, and a CSF 'Racing Radiator' w/ some 1.5bar caps. |

@PotatoFlakeSti keen to see the results. Iv recently purchased the G30-900 with a 0.61AR but seeing so many mixed reviews. Car is an 02 STI EJ207 with Kelford 272 cams.
Your power at 31psi is impressive. |

Id you primarily are racing it. The .83 is what ypu want. You have a factory redline of 8,200 rpm. Use it lol

Engine is going back in - unfortunately I've not received my .83AR Turbine Housing I ordered almost 2 months ago... So I'm sticking with the small boi for now.

Looking like approximately 670whp - should have a dynosheet later today... Curious to see the graph.

Losing a little fuel pressure up top, evidently we're maxing out the Brushless DW pump(on the oem voltage)
Not much loss in spool. |

Great gains. 50+ hp/tq everywhere after full boost. Prob another 20-30 with the housing upgrade too
