Default P0014 & P0024 codes and quite a bit of smoke while engine is on..

100k miles on turbo. Turbine fell out and compressor wheel is jacked. Is this salvageable, would a new shaft and wheels fix this? Or should I look to replace the turbo itself.

What exactly would I check to know the condition if this is even worth rebuilding?

Best to just acquire a new or rebuilt turbo unit.

At the very minimum you would need a new turbine wheel and shaft, new compressor wheel and rebuild kit. Even then this is assuming that the housings themselves have not been damaged.

Subaru WRX Turbo Upgrades and Parts

I have purchased from there ebay store before and they have prompt shipping, fair pricing and a large selection. They can rebuild your turbo, sell you another one or sell you all the parts to rebuild yours.

I am going to assume all the burnt oil on the turbine wheel is from failed shaft bearings and not from the engine itself.

Yea the oil was just being burnt up in the exhaust. It was dripping out of the down pipe when I pulled it off.

Leak down results were okay 8-11% driver side cylinders while passenger side was 4-5% so I think I’m okay there.

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll give them a look

Look local
Tons of places RM turbos
I took mind to place in Houston, very honest, after visual inspection (43k....no shaft play) said you could spend the $350 to rebuild (no catastrophe dmg) but is fine
