Default All your safety and emissions info here!

I bought my Forester just over a year ago from PA with the tint already installed. When I registered it here I only had to the emissions inspection but the tech informed me that I "would probably fail the safety inspection" when that time came. That time is now.

I don't know what percentage the tint is, but I'm sure its not 43%. But its nothing crazy dark like 10% either. On my black car it doesn't look dark enough to get any tickets for it.

So my question is what can I do to pass inspection. I know the obvious is to remove the tint and go with a legal level, but where is the fun in that?

Anyone out there run into this before and have a creative way of getting around it?

BTW, I'm registered and live in SLC so safety inspection is mandatory.

Default The: OMG I need help with safety and emissions thread

Since we always have threads pop up pertaining to safety and emissions, I have created one so that all of you can post in it. Here you can ask where your local shady tech can pass you, who's peepee you have to touch to get passed etc.

I really don't think that putting up information about techs who will pass you is a very good idea...

Agreed as it is a very big fine and your license is on the line. With something as simple as tint you can just take it off and re apply it if its too dark to pass. hint: Remember safety is state wide and emissions is based on county.

Find a shady looking shop, independently owned and start flashing cash! Or have a 20 pack of beer in the passenger seat

I think he's been told that three times now, its obvious he doesn't want to go that route.

If you do choose take the tint off I know someone that will re tint it for cheap and he'd go as dark as you want.

Roll your windows down before going in for inspection and hope you get a lazy or inattentive tech.

Hi, I don't want to do any work to pass my car. Please pass it for me with no effort on my part. I mean I will drive the car to the shop, duh, but that is it.

No way I had to get mine retuned, and deal with a bunch of talking chimpanzees. What's worse is they wouldn't take bananas as payment

While we're on the subject of getting illegal stuff in an open and public forum, anyone know where I can get some crack, meth, and blow?

C/N: you're an idiot. Register in summit county or have a stock down pipe available.
