It's all in the prep and how careful you are. But the wire must be attached to the item or from what your hanging it from. You will make mistakes. But part of the learning process.
This is my last two parts I was playing with. Not sure about the colors but messing around. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...psdm5owmgt.jpg

I gutted and renovated my kitchen last year - now I'm wishing I'd hung onto the old range.
With a $35 spray gun and $20 in colors as the price of entry, I may have a new hobby here. |

Working on a stealth exhaust setup. I'm looking at having the mid pipe powder coated black or so something that makes it look normal instead of stainless modified.
So first issue is what can I do about the flex joint in the mid pipe being all silver? Can I powder coat the flex joint? Second question is what color would you guys suggest? Been thinking black but not gloss. I want stealth at possible. Last, any way I could bake it on my own? Or is professional the best way to do something this long? |

You are going to have issues powder coating that. It won't take the heat. You should maybe get away with a high temp powder that withstands up to 1200f but ceramic would be your best option.

I hear ya. If you use the wrong product it will just burn and flake off though.

Has anyone made their own silicon plugs? Is there a way to do that?

A friend and I have been doing in-home powder coating and sandblasting for awhile now. slowly upgrading our equipment as we go. It is a very fun and durable process. Both of our track cars have practically everything that could be powder coating done. We offer the service to people as well for less cost than a big shop would do.
