ohh, look what showed up. it matches my tool box
look at this cheap ass plug that came with it. not even a standard welding plug even came with more parts then my miller tig. and the tig torch, stick torch and grounding and others. even came with a regulator. kinda surprised about that one. also no foot pedal, but my miller diversion didn't come with one too.

I use mine a ton and have no complaints. The torch is a weldcraft wp17 IIRC so they are common consumables at any welding shop. I have yet to have anything break or not function properly on mine after ~2 years of heavy use.

Really, it didn't come with a foot pedal? My 250ex came with one in the box, but I ordered it directly from Everlast here in Canada.

no, as i need to go get a proper 50amp plug to match my other welders. and it was valentines day
will try it out this weekend. no, and that 500 buck model doesnt have it. i saw it in the specs as it was another 140 bucks for a pedal. but i think i have one laying around in a box some where that might work (looks like a standard plug) unlike the diversion which uses a cat5 cable |

ok, got to do some welding with it over the weekend and so far quite impressed. will try to get a few pics of some sample beads in the next few days. had to remember what all the damn dials do as on my miller its quite simple.
one bad thing i did notice is that the plug for the tig torch wouldnt plug into the socket right, as the gas lead would hit another plug. so i have an email out to them to see WTF that is about. |

so welding with it is nice. so far only two issues.
1. the tig lead doesnt plug into the damn machine correctly as you can see in the pic you push in the main torch lead and turn it,but with how the gas line comes out, it hits the quick release fitting. i called them and they are sending me the proper torch. i have kinda rigged it to work in the mean time. 2. the ramp up setting doesnt seem to stay constant. most times it seems fine, but other times when you start its a very hot start. 3. the main power switch is on the back, wtf (miller does this on some machines too, my miller tig has it on front, but my miller mig has it on back ) other then that so far i am kinda surprised at how well it works for a 500 buck tig welder. |

I have the 200 amp aircooled version of the Everlast machine.
I bought it to weld some thin-ish alloy parts (less then 2mm thick) like a coolant header tank, an washer spray bottle, and a PS tank. However a friend asked me to do some welding on the alloy truck bed on his truck that is used to haul a Komatsu mini-digger.The machine was used for 4 8 hour days almost non-stop on 4 to 6mm thick alloy, and other then the torch getting hot (as it's aircooled) I had no problems with it. If your livelyhood depends on it I would go with a Miller or a Lincoln, just for the support but for my usage (semi-pro/advanced hobby) I can not justify paying double or triple the price for a similar machine from the "big" names It has up/down slope, pulse, AC/DC balance and frequency , post/pre flow, and you do not find those features in a name brand machine even twice the money. |

I've got the Everlast powerpro 256 and love it. I've only welded only aluminum so far and it's done great. This was my first tig and it was somewhat easy to learn after reading manuals and watching YouTube videos. I've had it for 2+ years now.

the HF start works pretty well, the arc is stable for the most part. I've only ran it on dc non pulsed for TIG so far. For stick it seems to work great. The main gripe I have with the machine is that the fan is LOUD, and doesn't having any speed scaling on it so it's maxed out all the time. |

you are correct. however the neg side is on the left and pos is on the right. i have my ground hooked up to the pos and the torch lead hooked up to the neg.

After three weeks of research. I went ahead and ordered the new Everlast Powertig 200DX. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday and sure enough UPS lost the package. I absolutely hate UPS.
Eastwood is definitely a better price and seems like a great machine for what it can do, but I want more control on welding aluminum and the fixed 60 Hz from the Eastwood 200 wouldn't give me the fine beads that I am looking for. Plus I will be doing some very thin metal and need the pulse functionality. |

I have an everlast 185 micro and was able to do a schedule 10 header downpipe combo with it. I looked at the Eastwood and everlasts seem like an overall better deal.
One advice is to fork up the money and replace the torch right away with a ck flex. The lighter hose alone is worth the upgrade for comfort and quick positioning on small round parts. |
