I am not as good as you guys for sure, I can only do nice passes every now and then, and on perfect position, prep, etc.
This photo is one I actually did, most of the time I am banging away on a keyboard now-a-days! If either of you ever want to come work in Montreal, offer is on the table to come visit! -mark

scubydrew, do you use an automatic pulse setting or do you do all control with your feet(hand?)? Very awesome!

Looks so beautiful sir! Even with the little nipple on the bead on the right.
But we all love nipples don't we lol Here's something I have to show for now. Not my best work but I figured I contribute. I usually deal with welding mostly metal (beams, plates, angles, tubes etc) Here's some fittings I welded onto a VC for a friend of mine. It was tack welded on. |

All looks good guys. Welding is more of an art than anything. Technique if you may. Time and patience is a good start. Oh ya to many beers the night before or to much caffeine can also affect your weld. I must have looked like I had MS today, "Ive been drinking green tea all day long....Im JACKED UP"

Here is a shorty intake MAF tube I built for my WRX. I have welded Aluminum for 6 years. Now I am back in school for the third time for Mech Eng...I actually miss part of my old job.

Curiosity: What sort of experience do the pro welders here have? Number of years welding, how much you do....
Gave the TIG at school a try for the first time today. I succeeded in making a considerable mess of some scrap metal, but actually made a little guy out of scrap bits. 'Twas good fun. |

I've been welding for 3.5 years now. I spent a year at welding school in CT and 2.5 years here at AMS. I'd say I weld for about 4-6 hours a day monday thru friday. I've been lucky enough to work around some really good people which allowed me to hone my skills.
