Oh do we ever, the Utah Raptor is easily in my top 3 list of all time deadliest, efficient killers. Excluding those that lived in the jurassic period, of course.

Ziptie is local and does both. I do not know him or his work personaly but I am pretty sure 907bum tunes cars. Why not run an AP? My suggestion is to save your money and go to boostcreep in colorado or buy an AP. Harvey is very well respected and has tuned several members cars on here I believe.

P.S. the word you are looking for is DYNO not dino.

What shops in SLC would you recommend for a rebuild on a EJ251?
Mine is showing signs of Rodknock

Looks a bit sketchy but saw one in slc the other day. With bikes there is a lot more leverage to rip them off... With snowboards or skis I'm sure it would work great. Let me know how it works.

^ +1 for metric, but they are in centerville.. just north of bountiful. only 15-20 mins from slc. that's where everyone is going to recommend.

Yeah I just had a shop check it out but they are quoting me 3200 to swap in a motor from metric and 4200 for a rebuild. I've done a total swap before (N/a to turbo engine/drivetrain in a 91 mr2.) I'm not sure how much time it would take to do a swap like this if I did it myself vs. having someone do it.

PM sent. I know of a great guy who would most likely do it cheaper and has a good reputation. Shoot him a text or give him a call, he has done a million swaps and really knows his ****.

I'd recommend against Metric, after my experience this past week.

My Metric built motor failed last week after a bad injector they sold me took down their motor.

Motor was on their bench 7 weeks ago and the short block was given a bill of health. Their recommended injectors failed for the 2nd time, hydro locked the motor. They swapped the injectors, said the car ran and drove great and I was good to go. Motor failed within 6 blocks. Rings are shot, #1 rattles like crazy.

Metric said yesterday that the motor failed due to tuning, regardless of the injectors troubles. Stupid side feed injectors!

Metric said to me yesterday they offer no warranty for anything other than OEM build motors put into non-modded cars.

Poor service after the sell. I cannot recommend Metric any longer.

Good luck with your build. I'm going to need it for my re-build.

The injector latency values along with injector scale value must of been crazy high if you washed the cylinder walls within 6 blocks of leaving there shop. Has a cylinder leakdown check been performed yet?

This is why partially why I have been shying away from building a car again. No one offers any sort of warranty for service or tuning. What utah needs is a shop that offers full builds and tuning, that will ensure their work (at least for a few thousand miles). Its so easy to back out of being held responsible. All you need to do is blame the tuning or vise versa and your out of the clear.

Utah needs another modern garage. However I dont think anyone wants to pony up the coin for that, and how profitable it would be is arguable.

Some of you in office enviroments may appreciate this, and agree that majority of office folk are not hands on. I dont drink coffee but I finally got tired of listeing to all of them bitch about how they have to manually fill the machine even though there is plumbed line.

So I fixed it and sent an inner office email to shut everyone up...
Subject: Plumbed Coffee Maker- Enjoy Your Hands Free Beverage

Your coffee maker has been reset in 8186 to be a plumbed unit. Early on when hand filling, an internal float rose up placing it in manual mode. There is a reset fob with magnetic tab under the right Flavia placard[ in sailing terms would be the port side since the display would be considered the bow if attempting to mount and navigate the coffee maker in a boat like fashion] looking at the front of the machine. Pulling that out allowed the machines float to drop back into plumbed mode. A screw has been inserted into the trap door where you manually pour water to mitigate this from happening again. Thank you. That is all. You're Welcome!

While you are down there treat your car to an alignment @
Russ's Alignment
1915 S Redwood Rd, Salt Lake City

Tell Russ, when you are in Utah you never drink that two percent. You drink gin and juice like Snoop Dizzle. He will give you 10 percent off your services.

Take care.
