Pedders shocks?
Have any of you ever used Pedders shocks/struts?
I currently have Kyb Excel G shocks/usdm Sti pink springs/Group N top hats on my 2005 Wrx sedan, that is starting to feel a little worn out at ~75k miles, so I want to replace the shocks, preferably with something "sportier" than the current Kyb Excel G shocks. Pedders has some black oem replacement shocks, which I imagine are about the same as my Kybs, and they have some red "sport ryder" shocks that they say are "sportier" than their oe shocks and are better for aftermarket springs. This car is my DD and dont really want/need inserts or expen$ive d-spec/feal struts, BUT, I would like something "better" or "sportier" than my current Kyb Excel G shocks. These sound like what I want, but dont want to be the first to try them

None here.
When I saw "sport ryder", the shock name that came to my mind was Gabriel. Dunno, it's been ages since I've seen the Gabriel name, so maybe Pedders bought them out? If so, I think I remember that line as being basically OE-replacement, possibly a tiny bit firmer as a replacement shock to cover for general suspension wear and tear. What about bug wrx sedan 4-way adjustable AGX:
KYB 734034, 734035, 735036, 735037 https://www.ebay.com/itm/35337316591...QAAOSwccdgF-fn Or, $415 + shipping at Rock Auto. If you use bug struts with blob/hawk rear springs and blob/hawk rear top mounts, you'll need these at the rear: https://www.fastwrx.com/products/tic...-strut-spacers STI springs were for shorter inverted struts. If you try to fit sti springs on non-inverted struts, ensure you have at least 1/2" of pre-load. Otherwise, the spring could dislodge at full droop. Last edited by 2pot; 05-04-2021 at 04:02 PM. |
