WRX to STI brake conversion (I did lots of research please lmk if I am right)
So it's time for new brakes on my 2014 WRX hatch, the stocks have no life left and I have been eyeing either the CTS V upgrade or STI brake upgrade. I have done a bunch of research, I want to confirm what I have read is correct for my year car.
1. The front: STI brakes from 2008+ caliper should bolt right on no modifications needed, I need to use a 2004 STI 5x100 rotor. (according to KNS posts) 2. The rear: STI 2008+ caliper should bolt on no modification needed, I will need to redrill a 5x114 rotor from a 2008+STI to 5x100. E-brake should still work without mods for my WRX model year (according to KNS posts) 3. I have a manual car so my master cylinder is the same as the STI 4. I already have SS lines, but those are the same as the STI 5. One question: Are all 2008+ STI brakes brembo? or was there a stock STI brake and the brembo was an upgrade option? I can't seem to find this, when I do a search I only see brembo, but I want to confirm. I am asking because I found a kit that costs $80 more then CTS V swap with all the hardware, to swap the F/R brakes from a 2014 STI. I figure I will have less wheel clearance issues with the STI swap and I won't have to either drill out my steering knuckle or wait for July to come for the BWC CTS V kit to come back in stock. Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like you've done your homework. To me, going with the OEM setup is a better option than a modified Cadillac setup.
I can't offer you anything on #1-4, but for #5, yes, all '08+ STIs (and '04-07s, for that matter) have Brembos and only Brembos. The '18+ STIs have a 6-piston setup with bigger rotors, but that doesn't matter for you since you'd be getting parts from a '14 STI. |

I don't know whether this would be a thread-jack or not, but I'm doing the same thing as MasterOSkillio and I have some of the same questions.
I have a 2018 limited (wrx) - same questions 1 and 2 - is this the same as the 2014? Also, I've read that you have to upgrade the master cylinder (I have a M/T too). I see the STI/WRX have different part numbers. Thanks! -Ernie |

I just pulled this swap off my 2014 hatch. 2015 STI black brembos with KNS rotors, everything ready to go. I upgraded to 2018 STI brakes all the way around.
