Default Contemplating an EZ30 swap

I'm thinking about doing another engine swap as my goals have changed recently. Currently I have a JDM205 and functional AVCS. Originally I was going to keep this a daily driver and get a dedicated track car (still long term plans to get a track car). However, I have recently been approached by someone who does auto and motorcycle upholstery and he wants to sponsor my car to help build his business further. Now I am thinking about getting a new daily and turning my 9-2x into a show car.

I have read through quite a bit of the H6 Impreza conversion thread and have some questions.
1. Being DBC, if I get the AVCS version of the EZ30 can I swap to the aluminum IM to retain use of the throttle/cruise control cables?
2. I have an 03 JDM EJ205 ecu running my AVCS. Can this be modified for the EZ30? If not, what's the least difficult engine management option that will run the AVCS, and AVLS?
3. I will be using FI (either a BW or Garrett turbo). I have read the TB sits closer to the firewall than the EJ engines. Has anyone found a way to use a TMIC or should I go AWIC? Not interested in FMIC.
4. I have found some good deals on the JDM version with 6spd manuals. Are they similar to the STi 6spd (minus dccd)? Same mounts, bracing, bushings, CV shafts? Does anyone know what final drive they are? Or where I can find that info and the gear ratios?
5. In regards to FI, I read Perrins build thread and have an idea of what needs to be addressed. Beyond these engines running hot, are there any oiling issues? I will be using an oil cooler and already have a large core aluminum radiator.
6. And last question for now. I am looking for around 400whp as it appears this won't stress the engine too much and be comfortable on the street. Does anyone make internals, valve train parts, and HGs specifically for these engines yet? Or is it still mostly custom? I'm thinking 7000-7500 rpm based on the turbo I have in mind. CR of about 8.5:1. Tuned on 91oct.

Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. This will be a long term project and I'm not looking to rush through it. Thanks.

1 - yes

2 - no, you need to open your wallet for this and get a standalone. haltech 2500 if you keep fly by wire, haltech 2000 if you don't.

3 - you need to run fmic. there's not even enough room for a decent sized water to air intercooler. the frozenboost type 13 is the biggest that will fit. otherwise you're looking at moving the battery and putting a WTA where the battery sits.

4 - search "rallispec transmission chart". you want the tallest ratio 6 speed subaru does, which is a .707 6th. remember that the 1.1:1 transfer gears mean you need a 3.54 rear diff, not a 3.9. basic vlsd 3.54 r160's exist, otherwise it's clutchpack r180's from the hawkeye sti onwards. however, the legacy 6 speed gearboxes have OPEN front diffs, so i'd recommend buying a decent front diff and changing it over while you have the box out of the car. they also don't have the speedo sender in the bell housing, so you need to get the housing machined to add one (very common mod that many shops do).

5 - YES. there's a centrifugal issue with the pump which means you lose oil pressure over 7500rpm and you lose it FAST. the oil sump itself is great though and has 6L capacity. possum bourne motorsports do baffle plates, and the sump uses the same plug as the EJ, so magnetic plugs exist in their millions.

6 - supertech and possum bourne motorsports, and also outfront motorsports. if you want 400whp, it'll do it without building it. just install the turbo and tune it.

you should really post this in the h6 impreza thread though, we're keeping all this info in the one place for a reason.

Battery is already relocated to the trunk and was figuring I'd use that space for AWIC.

Is there anything that can be done with the oil pump? I not planning on going much past 7000rpm but it would be nice to have a bit of room beyond just in case.

My biggest concern with FI are valve springs and connecting rods as those appear to be the weak points. I had been thinking about contacting Outfront anyway so it's good hear a recommendation for them.

I'm well aware of the different diffs and how to look for ratios. I'll look on their trans chart to figure what came in what. Considering the engines I've been looking at come with a 6 speed I'm more concerned with making sure I can source mounts and bushings for them. Ratios and gearing is more a curiosity to see how they are in terms of performance. If they are designed strictly for highway use then I'd just get a long block and mate it to my current trans.

I had been considering a Nemesis stand alone unit since I'm familiar with Hydra which I believe they bought a few years ago. I'll look into the Haltech units and compare since pricing is similar.

I did think of another question. I haven't found if these are top feed or side feed injectors. I saw that Perrin used WRX injectors so I'm guessing top feed and the same impedance as well. Is this correct? If so then I should be able to use ID 1050s right?

I posted this separately so that I can eventually move this to a build page and keep the information easy to go through for my purposes without having to sift through a general information thread.

Oil pump is a design problem - the ez36 fixed it, but the 36 has much more stroke and a ruined rod:stroke ratio. Only option is to destroke the 36 with a 30 crank - outfront do this, but it costs.

valvesprings won't float unless you have serious boost.

mounts and bushings are everywhere for the 6 speed. a russian guy called kein does ez30 engine mounts.

injectors are a straight swap.
