Default Shifter making noise while in neutral going side to side and getting stuck** HELP**

2015 Wrx
Stock clutch, stock transmission


Still shifts into all gears no grinding just having this issue going back to neutral it gets stuck and makes this noise.

Start with the simply stuff


1. check oil, however i doubt this is the issue.
2. remove boot and check shifter in cabin
3. check shifter linkages under car.


4. check lockout barrel

Had the transmission looked at it’s something internal. Might be more worth it to just buy a used tranny?
