Default Ascent Tuning

Longtime member looking to trade-in my 2012 Outback 3.6R for a new Ascent Touring.

Naturally, I'd like to make some Stg 1 and 2 changes to unlock the new 2.4L engine.

Not finding much in the way of OTS solutions. Maybe just get a local Subie tuner to do a custom tune?

TIA

Being a brand new vehicle there is not likely to be much for OTS support. Especially since it's kind of a family oriented car anyways. If I were you I'd have a good tuner play with it and of course report back and let us all know how it turns out!

I wouldn't be surprised if COBB will have something in the works soon.

I emailed COBB about this and they said they are working on development to see if they will support the Ascent. Crossing fingers they do.

That would be something else if COBB decided to support the Ascent. I would take some exhaust options since the OEM one is shabby!

Since Cobb hasn't 'unlocked' the ECU, what would you use to tune the ECU, opensource?

Also, since it appears a lot of tuners don't like tuning on CVTs, which is the only option for the Ascent.

I wonder what limitations the transmission has? I would love to get this car a little over 300 HP.

I love this vehicle and pleasantly surprised with the powertrain, but feel a lot is left on the table with the CVT and don't think that can be overcome. That said, it would be nice to see an ECU tuner that could help with a more linear air/fuel and shift points. Maybe even a boost control.
