Nice build so far. The updated custom cages 14 fia spec cages are pretty awesome if you havent seen them yet.

I was hoping to get the older version and I did, since it doesnt have that additional bar that runs parallel to the A pilar.
Easier to get in and out.. |

All i can say its been a bitch to get the cage welded.
The car was supposed to be ready last Saturday then I get a msg that its another 2 weeks. WTF ???? |

Picked up the car on Friday !!!
Finally back in the garage. Got some help vacuuming the debris. Cage prep cleaning. Close up of the welds. Front strut brace completed and top hats. |

Cage looks pretty good, but I gotta ask where's the harness bar? There's a few other bars I would have expected to see too that are "missing"

Harness bar is the rear bar.
This is FIA certified cage. I thought the same when I got it... Looked like some gussets are missing and a vertical door bar is missing. The guy welding it in (ex-prodrive tech) said that this is how they come. Welding anything else on top of whats provided could void the certification. The new 2014 version does have more bars. |
