Anyone have any advice on where to get a set of brake rotors, and what to get? I don't want to spend a ton of money but don't want garbage quality either.

I got a family handyman magazine a couple weeks ago and they had a couple tips about car maintenance, one of which involved changing the brake fluid and basically the procedure was to use a baster and remove the fluid from the reservoir and add new fluid. Drive for the day and repeat it the next day etc. and do so for about a week until all the old fluid is theoretically out of the system.

Obviously this isn't ideal, but for a newb like me, is this something worthwhile? It seems like it should work in theory, even if I do end up wasting some good brake fluid in the process.

No. Brake fluid doesn't circulate. Bleeders are there for a reason.

^Correct. If you have a vehicle with a power steering reservoir, the baster is perfect for that.

Weird, maybe I mis-read it because they had a section on power steering too. Sorry!

HAvent used the seat belt holder once. I think I've only disconnected the middle seat belt one time.

Do you guys recommend turning or replacing rotors? Mine are at the end of the stock pads life and seem okay, still have enough life in them to be turned. How necessary is it to do so though?

Rotors are not that expensive so if they need to be turned, might as well buy new ones instead of trying to save the old ones.

no, it does circulate, eventually. I did this on my buick because the bleeders were frozen and didn't want to break them. it did actually work, every couple days the fluid would start to look like crap until it finally started to stay nice looking.

I don't understand how that would work. I thought brake fluid gets nasty at the calipers and eventually fills the lines all the way back TO the reservoir. I'm thinking if you keep emptying and refilling the reservoir, that fluid goes nowhere.

I did my brake fluid (for the first time ever) using a One man brake bleeder kit similar to what Flyboy posted
http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/1-...FU2wZAodcSgIAA

Procedure is remarkable simple, check a youtube video and you can tackle it.

There is an unforeseen health/physical benefit to the One Man bleeder though, you get to put in your squat reps.

yup, just used mine today too to bleed brakes on my Excursion, so much easier than having someone pump the brakes

Quick question - saw someone selling a set of winter wheels on facebook and this is the description:

For sale are my Drag DR-34 charcoal grey 5x114.3 or 5x100 wheels with Continental WinterContact winter tires. Tires are 205/65/16 and wheels are 40mm offset with a 73mm hub bore. Hub centric rings to fit a 2007 Subaru Forester are included.

Shouldn't be any issues with these fitting our cars correct?

not sure on top of my head about the offset, but the rest of it should be good. IIRC the offset on my winter wheels is 38mm and i run a 205/60r16 (25.7" tire) vs my normal wheels which are 215/55r17 (26.3") and you are looking at a 26.5" so it will be close but should fit.
