I've kind of wanted to get king standard height springs since they're a little stiffer, I carry really heavy tools in the back pretty often and I'm sure it makes the springs drop significantly, which doesn't help considering I'm usually driving off road on farms when I'm carrying tools.

Sounds like a Subaru is just right for a farrier. I used to have to hold my horse while he was being shod because he couldn't stand being tied. I admire you for sticking with that job. It's hard work. There's a lot more to know about equine foot care than most people realize. Thanks for what you do!

Farrier school is surprisingly tough if you go to a good one, of my 8 or so classmates that made it through only 2 or 3 are actually sticking with it. We started with 12. I'm getting used to the actual work now but the schooling will kick your ass. Also I need more clients right now though really, not enough work on its own to keep me busy, even regardless of how much money I make. Need SOMETHING to use some time up.

would switching to my e85 tune and running some e85 through help my possible sticking rings issues?

Anyone having an issue with the sun visors? My wife has done "something" to the passenger side one that anytime she turns it to the side, it falls out. It's clipped in for looking forward, but rotate it 90 degrees to block the sun from the side, and bam, it's sitting in your lap. I looked up the hole and all the clips are in the socket, no damage to the plug on the visor, it clips in firmly, etc.

I almost never use mine since I carry sunglasses with me whenever I leave the house, so I don't know if it's just due to how frequently she uses her side or something, but even then, she rides in my car at most once or twice a week, not a daily thing.

Passenger sideskirt took a hit when during my road trip last month. Finally got around to it.

The mounts for the pop-it clips attached the sideskirt are terribly designed. I should have take a picture. Theyre thin "fins" that attach the mount to the sideskirt itself rather than the complete edge. If this makes sense... [| when they should be || . Anyhow, just threw some globs of epoxy on the couple broken mounts, filling in the space between the "fins" as well for more security.

Havent been driving much lately and it seems I had a visitor in my engine bay making a nice home right next to the FB20 stamp. Fortunately it was more interested in the wire looming for my foglights than anything important.

Just pulled the front seat and carpet a few days after a diet Coke spill.

The carpet backing is impermeable and traps liquid in the foam padding regardless of how well you vacuum or ventilate.

Fortunately I don't take milk or sugar in anything, or the car would've been totaled.

If any of you are ever poking around in your engine bay and have a multimeter near by, if your car has been off for at least a few hours you should check the voltage and see what it's at. I'm interested in what other peoples' are at depending on the age and battery CCA and all that.

Just wondering, my battery that's just over a year from manufacture settles around 12.4-12.5v which is a little low but not bad.

It's not low. Unless you're having trouble starting, forget about it.

Voltage isn't a direct indicator of battery health.

High voltage is actually detrimental to longevity.

You're spending way too much time worrying about something that costs $100 and carries a 3+ year warranty.

Unless I missed a string posts worrying about his battery Im not sure where you came up with that.

Hell, I look for excuses to use my multimeter out of curiosity.

I'm not worrying. I'm wondering.

I also suspect these cars come with 390CCA battery because lower CCA batteries usually handle heat better and our engine bays get retardedly hot even on cold days. Maybe not a ton hotter than other cars but I'm sure they didn't waste money on figuring out how to cool the engine bay of a ****box NA.

I don't think the engine bay gets any hotter than any other vehicle i have driven, I also have a manual which puts out nowhere near the heat of a CVT

When my CVT was getting to 1337º it didn't seem to make the engine bay any hotter than short drives where it only gets to 180º.

There's nothing unusually hot about our engines or engine bays.

The oil runs cooler than the coolant, there's no turbo and the exhaust manifolds face the ground.

Subaru has a lot of experience packing twice the power into similar platforms, so I highly doubt cooling the GP/GJ was a challenge.

You got to 1337º on the CVT more than once? Wasn't the "AT OIL TEMP" light a clue?

When you're driving across the country and don't have extra time to do it, you can't worry about the CVT being 10-50f over what it should be. Just change the fluid when you get back and it should be fine.

I gave the dealer every opportunity to make loads of money off me by telling them to change it but they didn't so I had to replace it on my own. Quite frankly I'm not sure the monkeys that worked there would have known what they were doing anyway.

I want my car to run hot, the faster it warms up the better it gets cold as hell here.

It's a Subaru made for cold weather.

Take off your intake snorkel and use a piece of dryer exhaust tubing to make it suck air from a semi-enclosed space near the engine.
