I'm just wondering because this will dictate how I build my car when I pay it off. Im currently 28 and like the racer look, but not sure if it would look cool when im above 30, (ex. too boy racer)
I’m 36 and just bought my first Subaru (08 WRX). It’s in great shape. It only had one owner and 52k original miles on it. He maintained it meticulously. Love the thing so far.

40+ had, but recently sold it. It is alot of car for the money and really fun to drive. The reason I bought it was for performance and the fact I could get a manual trans.

36yo just purchased my second STi 2018 DGM, it makes me smile every time I start it and plan on modding it ASAP. First one was a 2013 STi black and orange edition 1 of 100 cobb stage 2.

I'm 31 and still have my ***8216;02 WRX wagon I bought when I was 19. It was my dream car as a young teenager. These days it's kind of my dirty errand car. Dump runs, moving things, yard work, fishing, etc.

Edit: I owned it for less than a year when this thread was made. Wow! Time flies...

42, '19 WRX, wanted something I could have fun modding and abusing without too much guilt. Car is fun, not real fast, but it is fun for flipping u-turns and such on the way to work.

Default I am!

I like my bugeye but wonder how many people above 30 year old have a wrx and what mods do you have exterior wise.

Im 32, i have a 02 bugeye with the original blaze yellow paint, 17in black motegi's, tint (that i just got a ticket for- cop thought i was a racer boy) lowered on flex z, hid headlights, rally armor mudflaps. And a black sticker pin stripe down the sides. Kinda thinking the same thing tho, like how long can i pull it off. I guess our wrx is like our fathers mustangs & camaros. Im depating putting a sti wing on, or just going clean out of fear of persecution. Lol.

I think you've drawn a pretty good comparison across the generations there.

I also think that one of the keys to being "officially left alone" is to keep your exterior mods subtle in nature and not on the wrong side of technical legality. Let them say something about you and your car without them having to scream it. Things like 20mm lowering vs slammed and no more than light tint vs not gonna let anybody see in at all.

That's always worked for me, I still drive with a certain amount of 'enthusiasm' when the right kind of road presents itself, and there's a fair chance I was already driving the day your Dad was born.
