Oh yeah, that too...the rear seats seem roomier than the 2007.

just purchased an 08 2.5i sport (canadian) 5 door 5 speed in world rally blue, taking delivery on monday (xmas eve). Starting my list of mods already, getting the sport grille and a set of hid's in the next couple of weeks, any word on aftermarket suspension support yet? a nice thick set of swaybars would be nice before the autox season starts up

this one is on a 2 year lease so i'm "stuck" with it.

Dang whoosh. Sorry to hear about your awful ownership experience. Hopefully, it grows on you a bit more. I've been wanting to test drive the '08 (auto) WRX, but there is no place within 30 minutes of me that has one in stock. Everyone seems to be carrying only the 5MT model.

I just picked up my 08 2.5i 5-door Dark Gray Metallic Premium Package three days ago (coming from a 08 Lancer GTS) and in New England, there is nothing like AWD. I have not had a chance to play in the snow with it yet (still only has 400 miles on it) but I will soon. The lancer was by far, the worst vehicle in the snow. Long story short, overall I am very impressed with the new Imp and it's an excellent deal for 20k. Much more value than the Lancer.

no car is perfect and i made a poor choice for myself.

it's not that it's "awful". it is slightly better than the cars i tested but, coming from a 3.0r it's a down-grade in certain respects.

i had to make a choice with the 3.0r, it was at the end of it's lease. last winter it was showing signs of piston slap and i'm not keeping a car with "potential" problems.

on the bright side the impreza does corner real well even with 3 in the car and stock tires on.

should've gotten a wrx or a lgt for the power.

oh well........should've, would've, could've............too bad

how did you like the cvt?

did it kinda feel like it wouldn't "be there" in emergency maneuvers?

If I recall correctly, you were shoppping for something with decent fuel economy. If the WRX is anything like my LGT, I can't do better than 17 mpg city. Most of the time, I average 13-15 mpg when I am only doing only city driving.

But, for me, I don't care for fuel economy because I only drive on the weekends. I've only put about 2000 miles on it since April (although, it was in the shop for most of May - July and I was sick from late August to early December).

i was getting 15-16mpg with the 3.0r city

the impreza is doing 19-20 mpg

the only "real money" savings is the price of the car and using regular gas, which isn't too much on a lease.

93 octane and 13 mpg FTW

How does the OBS do on the highway - I generally average 22 mpg on the highway.

no need, it was my choice.

my sister just "moved down" to a 07 matrix from a honda odyssey. she said she felt the same for a while. maybe i need more time with it and some good windy roads.

the only aspects i really don't like are the hard plastics inside and the lack of "thrust". as i said before it is a very good car for a young first time subaru owner. it has some very good under-pinnings and very good highway ride with more comfy seats than the 04 wrx i had. i also don't like the "traction control" ass flying around (on the snow pack only)

i'm not an audiophile but i think the stereo w/10 speakers and sub-woofer are kick-ass for oem.

i also like the looks of the car especially when next to other cars in the parking lot. steering wheel feels real good but, the buttons could be a little bigger.

i did test drive the 08 wrx auto and loved it's smooth pickup but, in the end i decided to save money and get the obs.

btw - i went to my dealer and asked how much it would cost to get out of this lease and get into another with the 3.0r. it was roughly $5,000. the new imprezas have the best depreciation numbers when "plugged in" to the formula.

and NO! there are no plans for jdm rims or any others for this car. i'm done with that fiasco.
