It reminds me of a white noise machine. Haha

Well, last time I tried to pill my little buddy with de-wormer she ate like one bite and then went on a rampage, today I crushed it up and mixed it on with the water from a can of tuna. She drank most of it before deciding she wanted to take a nap in front of the heating vent in the kitchen so I'm calling that a win

I have to give Dash a dropper of stuff to help her gums out right now and it’s a struggle. Was over my sister’s house the other day and she asked me to give her black lab his meds and he just gobbles them up like a treat. Two completely different scenarios, lol.

She's almost 7 months old now, not entirely sure how old she is in that pic, it was from the foster mama.

Yeah, I've tried that and it just didn't work as a matter of geometry - she's about 7.5lbs and the pill is huge. Even without a pocket it physically doesn't fit in her mouth. I'm saying she probably took 2/3 to 3/4 of it before getting suspicious of the tuna. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but if there is a next time I'll have her drink from the syringe. Little idiot

Recommendations for a good quality wet food for a couple of young indoor cats that is readily available and won't break the bank?

Also, what do you guys think about Hills Science Diet indoor dry food? Seems the vets and shelters push this stuff.

I've been doing Gerber baby food for our cats and they seem to like it. Has a higher water content and it is just water and chicken or whatever without all the weird stuff they seem to want to put in cat food these days like peas and carrots. Cats don't eat peas and carrots!

Pete likes Royal Canin canned food, and I cycle through the different variaties, adult, hairball, indoor, etc, to keep him interested.

I moved on from Science Diet foods after having had them pushed on me by a vet that I lost confidence in. He seemed far more interested in selling me prescription food for all of my animals than he seemed concerned for their well-being and my wallet.

http://catfooddb.com/search?search=science%20diet

Some say that cats shouldn't get dry food at all, that it's nothing but junk food and carbs that they don't need, but I've always had happy healthy cats by feeding both wet and dry.
Pete gets Blue Buffalo Wilderness.

Which Royal Cabin? There are a bunch listed on that site, but none are particularly highly rated.

Right now they are getting the cheapest 9 lives there is so I guess almost anything is a step up.

I've pretty much tried everything on the shelf.

My cats like Friskies, non pate'. I suppose it's like McDonalds to them. We leave out some higher quality dry food as plan B.

They also like the fishy flavors of Tiki Cat.

Instinctive varieties.

I didn't consult that site or any other when I switched. He'd decided that he didn't like his previous food anymore so I grabbed this and he likes it.

I've been using I and Love and You. I just looked it up on catfooddb and see it's average. $15 for 5 lbs, and sometimes I mix in wet. Your can get 12 cans on walmart.com for $10. Shiped. I will look around since recently the change marketing to include "superfood" and "antioxidant" and f that. It"s bad enough for people.

I also do Blue Buffalo Wilderness (chicken and salmon) for the dry food. One prefers the chicken and one prefers the salmon so there are always 2 bowls down with dry food.

Mr Felix eats natural balance indoor dry chicken & salmon meal and fancy feast flakes/cuts in gravy or Sheba perfect portions cuts in gravy. His favorite seems to be the roasted chicken and beef varieties. He won’t touch any fish flavored cans at all.
Probably not the best for him but it’s what he seems to like. He doesn’t scarf down any food and nibble through the day, we give him 1/2 a small can and a small scoop of dry at morning and night, I guess it works.
He drinks enough water from his bowl and the water fountain, even more with the new ceramic fountain. He’s all about it.

Lost another cat to heart disease. Had him at the vet last week for bloodwork to determine if he had heart disease and he goes and throws a clot at 11:30pm last night resulting in straddle thrombosis. Got him to the ER vet pretty quickly, but the vet didn't think he'd survive the night even with medical intervention.

Bananas was a good cat. He really liked beer.
