Default Valve cover bolts jdm ej205 vs usdm ej205

Are valve cover bolts the same length for jdm ej205 avcs heads and usdm ej205 heads?

I put together a motor I had sitting in my garage and am having trouble with the valve cover leaking even after replacing the gasket and half moon pieces in the heads. Can't get it to stop leaking even after putting rtv over the whole gasket. Got to wondering whether the bolt was bottoming out and not seating the valve cover properly

You would know the answer to your question if you properly torqued the bolts down to the required torque specs...

They were torqued to spec the first time I changed them, didn't feel like it bottomed out but I don't think the bolt would have stripped out at 3.6ft/lb either.

were brand new gaskets used? Did you reference the part numbers to make sure the gasket is the same for USDM to JDM?
