Got er Thursday. Already had a trip to the dealer, lol. Dash trim's all jacked up. They ordered a bunch of parts.

It's a Subaru thing. LOVE (going back to the dealer with a 2 day old car.)

There are parts of this thing I REALLY like - headlights are freakin' NICE. Nice sharp cutoff, good hot spot, love the steering controlled movement - like my old 135i.
Drives very well and has a meaty torque band.

No. And probably not in the near future.

Inventory lots going up the hill. Heuberger. I need to go back. Haven't been since their "transformation".

^^ Yup. SOA is really cramping their style lately - almost like automotive socialism. Make everything "fair" for all the little Suby dealers. For example, Heub probably will not be getting an S209 allotment. Keep the successful big guy down, for "fairness" reasons.

That said, I got my usual ridiculously low price!

I wanted Blue, wife demanded the Red. If Tungston was slightly less tan/brown, it'd have been a no-brainer.

Congrats! I haven't seen a color on the Ascent that really makes it pop. The red is the closest, maybe followed by silver.

Thanks! We had a tough time on the colors to be honest. They’re all a slight bit lackluster. Now that we have the red we are real happy with it.

Wife said the blue is “grandpa blue.” She’s used to WRB type blues and the electric blue of the X-Terra. I still like the blue, and no I’m not a grandpa (yet.)

We were done with white - I never was a fan of the SWP on the FXT and I needed a change.

They did that a couple years ago. Then right after that, dealers all across the nation started selling similarly. 2 in our district do. Heuberger dropped off CONSIDERABLY from double the #2 sales to currently third. They are, however, seemingly making a move again. They won't top out this year; but, if they keep this going, they'll probably get the thrown back next year.

Congrats! That's a nice colour! Shame about having to go back so soon but at least it isn't a functional/mechanical issue right off the bat!

The headlights are really good. I will concur with that. Also really good is rearward visibility. The steering ratio and turning circle are shockingly good.

Wow... That red does look good ! Congrats !
I think Subaru is doing a very good job on headlights across most, if not all, of their current cars. Enjoy !

Congratulations, Brahmzy. Red would be my color of choice as well (though I wish the red was a bit stronger).

and it placed last in the latest comparison.

Highs: Clear sightlines in every direction, better than riding the bus.
Lows: Slow, noisy, and thirsty; like a bounce house without the fun.
Verdict: Its driving dynamics leave us wanting more sportiness.

As the Subaru's body flops, bounces, and porpoises awkwardly over rough roads, the driver's head sways, bobs, and nods constantly.

Definitely supports the idea that it's NOT a sports car.

Well, they tested the "Sport" not the XT. IIRC, the only thing that makes it a Sport is aesthetic, and nothing functional. I also believe the XT has different parts than the base.

Well... for Subaru? Yes.

Believe it or not, some people like plush driving. They're not out to dodge cones. They want linear throttle response. Predictable driving. Nothing too dynamic. That's the Legacy's legacy.

Subaru has enough sporty vehicles that the Legacy doesn't need to be sporty. Most other manufacturers that the Legacy competes against, however, have more to prove. They don't offer much if anything that competes with the BRZ/WRX/STI.

Just my observation. *shrug*

Then, we would need the reviewer to do back to back drives with the previous gen, eh?

The previous generation looked better IMO. This one looks more bland.
