Default Buying a 05 auto wrx

Im buying a super clean bone stock auto blob eye the motor is seized everything else is functional. I was told the motor wont come off the trans cause its seized, is this true? I was planning on pulling the motor and trans as a whole regardless. Any info is appreciated ive done quite a few motor and trans swaps before so that aspect im not worried but newer to the subis.

If you're pulling them together, it's not as big of a deal. Even if you don't, you'll just need more room as the torque converter will be bolted to the flexplate so you'll have to pull the whole thing out. Then just split the case and dump the crank out, and then you can unbolt the converter.

So i tore into the car for a few hours. I found that the cars battery and battery tray had caught fire from a ****ty stereo system installation i found part of a melted power cable a bunch of melted plastic and a few melted harnesses. I was told the motor was bad so i started to take it apart i took off the intake exposed the black trap door to take off the 4 flex plate bolts. I was told the motor was seized and he couldnt get it out. So me being an idiot took his word for it and just started unbolting everything prepared to pull the trans with the motor. As soon as i took off the intake and the black cover there was one of thw flex plate bolts so i was like screw it lets see what i can do
So I took out my pry bar and gave her a few choice words and 240lbs of myself and broke her loose she spins fine. So looks like the kid started a fire and started to try to fix or gut it and got as far as taking the radiator out breaking a bunch of hoses and vacuum lines removing the trans bolts the ac, the alternator and couldnt go any further be ause it was "seized." So for now im gonna remove the motor and all the wiring in the engine bay and go through it for damage. Im tempting on getting all the harnesses from a donor for a simpler manual swap. Or ive contemplated getting a rhd half swapping it all over to this one. Anyway progress for now wish me luck.

How much did you pay for it?(If you don't mind me asking)

Might be worth it to just part it out and pick up one with a decent engine/tranny.
