Default Maximum HP on JDM EJ207

What is the maximum HP on a JDM STI EJ207 (version 10) with stock internals?

Also, at what point should you upgrade the 565cc injectors?

I dont think anyone knows the limits of the stock internals on the JDM EJ207 all to well. As far as injectors go....the stock JDM 565cc's arent gonna do much more than simple bolt ons.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=842346

I made 504 WHP on a dynapak running 32psi through a stock JDM STi v7 motor. I've daily driven the car since then and the motor leak down tested perfect as of 2 weeks ago. Keep in mind on pump gas everyday i don't beat on it very much. I mostly run 18-19psi and not the 23psi i was tuned for on pump gas. I have run about 30-35 gallons of C-16 through it though since the tune, as well as a couple drag passes.

This was stock heads/cams. Some headwork and cams would really help out.

I did not expect the motor to last me many miles. I know it can go anyday, but i do feel it's a somewhat reliable setup if you give it some good high octane fuel and don't beat it on pump gas.

Hope this helps,

Louis

I overboosted my ej207 accidentally to over 30psi and blew a headgasket.... The internals just laughed at me and asked for more

Hmmm, a local tuner here that does Motecs for a lot of rally cars in Australia reckons the stock internals on STI Spec Cs are only good for 400lbft torque (flywheel). Says the pistons since v8 have gone down a grade and they have problems with the spacing between the rings or something...

The V8 pistons are made the same as the usdm sti pistons so that's not surprising. Most would agree that the V7 STI pistons are more hearty and can take more abuse...

Yehaa, the tread just reborn! By the way, mine (v8) is about 350whp with a efr7163 and 19psi. I run 17psi normally with the map1.

Yes, 315hp on crank is in safe area for JDM EJ207. But you will need a good tune for long term

Wow how the hell did you do that? My tuner told me that expected with an 18G, headers and 1000 cc injectors. I getting 275 whp and 245 wtq with a VF30, pinks and a DP.

I'm also trying to get 4 replies so I can make an original post.
