I remember these pics. now these photoshops look way better. but still the one thing we are really waiting on is the power figures, the interior, and body styles. they are trying really hard to keep the wrx and STI under wraps. they don't want the forums to explode just yet.

Sedan looks pretty good.
Hatch looks pretty bad. Wagon is bester interpolation. |

I have to have one SUV in the family and one other vehicle. Both need to be autos so my wife can drive both on days I need to take the dog into the vet or pick up bulk items from Home Depot. Right now that vehicle is an Accord Touring 2.0. Which is a really fun car if tuned a bit soft for the mass public. But a proper WRX with a DCT might be able to replace it in a few years. The Accord really does like 95% of things damn well. Adjustable dampers wake up the handling.

Rear bumper humps on either side of the trunk needs to go up to the bottom of the taillights and apply the same smiley face character line to form the shape of the bumper sill and trunk. I think the photoshop bumper is a few inches too low if we apply what the current car's rear looks like to the concept. |

The greenhouse and roofline is going to be the Levorg's not the VIZIV concept. So the photoshop is more in line with reality if the suggestion I made about raising up the bumper humps to the bottom of the taillights and follow suit with the bumper sill. The concept has zero sill which is not making it to production.

That CTRified Subaru concept is even worse than the first quick and dirty photoshop the other guy did. It’s so goddamn ugly I can’t believe it.

There are obvious and clear differences between the two Viziv Concepts.
I don't think the WRX/STI design scheme is going to deviate much from the Viziv Performance Concept based on how close the Viziv Tourer Concept came in execution to the production Levorg. The similarities of the two concepts will likely be shared in production version, but the differences should stay unique to either. |

Yeah I've said before the new levorg is probably the closest concept to production transition we've seen from Subaru for a long time.
But I'm unsure how they're going to turn the supercar hips and difuser of the sti concept into production. The hips stick out massively from the car where you can put a dinner plate on the top of the hips, and that wild difuser will give way for a lame bumper? The front and sides should look close though. |

I hope they bring back large fog lights. I never used them much, but they were nice to have.

The rear wing on the STI looks juvenile, but the rear end on the WRX just looks absent. It made it necessary for me to keep my wing on my STI, even though I'd like to have a more mature looking vehicle, being almost 35. I miss the beefy looking rear end on my 2013 sedan, along with the larger spoiler. The 2015+ model just looks wimpy and the little lip spoiler reminds me of the 00's Cavalier. I chose beefier and juvenile over wimpy. I'd like a compromise on this next model for me to reconsider purchasing another, eventually. That and I'd need an exhaust that doesn't sound like garbage compared to the current WRX. Japlopnik even had it listed in their top 10 worst sounding motors. Cabin sound is also very important to me, especially if I'm staying stock, like my 2018. Sorry if that offends anyone. I don't drive my cars very fast, but I love listening to the motor and letting the rpm's slowly roll up and down. It sounds even better with the windows open. Otherwise, the Mustang GT Track Package and Camaro SS 1LE are looking very appealing for my 1st large displacement V8 alternative. But, I just don't need that much power and I like 4 doors. I'm hoping this works out in my favor. |

I'm crossing all my fingers for the return of a wagon. My 15 supercharged A6 is a beautiful car, but made it very apparent I don't want on an auto in my life. Now that the new TLX Type S is confirmed to be auto only, it's down to the upcoming WRX/STi, or MK8 Golf R.
Also, I think that sedan STi concept is stunning. |

Think they will keep the same cvt or put a better auto in the wrx?

it is possible they cvt based on the ones in the legacy, outback, and ascent but designed to handle much more torque in the wrx. but the STI has avoided an automatic in the USDM. will we get an auto option in the STI and what type will it be, we just don't know. will the wrx and STI have the same auto option we still don't know. JDM I believe already has an automatic STI.

I'm willing to bet the taillights will be more like the Levorg in design but besides a more aggressive lower valance and exhaust and fenders flaring past the sides of the taillights, not much about the overall shape should change from this. Could be wrong and Gen2 gets more aggressive with the SGP WRX, but that roofline, rear window, trunk lid, and sill are likely staying. |

I'm all for waiting for the refresh of most any car. If it sucks, I can always pick up one of the remaining pre-changed cars. That, and it gives me more time to save so I can write my check and drive away with total ownership. That's always a great feeling. If I pick up another STI, it will be after a few year wait. Again though, if it sounds like a terrible FA motor, I'm out. If the rear end isn't sufficient enough to buy without a giant spoiler, I'm out. (I'll be nearing 40 before looking to purchase.) |

Similar boat. I'll be 36 this August and by the time there's even potentially an STI to upgrade to I'll be that much closer to 40. I'm not in any real rush, but I also don't want to wait forever.

No wings for me. I've had my hay day with the big ass wing. It was fun in my 20s.
The styling could really make or break it for me. I have a feeling it will be just more of the same sedan action with lip or coffee table.. |

I care very little about speed, so I love the performance of my 2018 STI. But, I need to hear something that sounds somewhat burly. Listening to the car is a huge part of the driving experience, and it's hard to top a large displacement motor, outside of my love for the "boxer rumble" sound. I have a feeling the unique rumble sound is gone for good, only to be replaced with the toneless buzzing sound of an FA motor. It could be the car of the century, but I would never be able to get over absolutely hating the sound. |
