2020 Series.White
Looks like we are getting a new color for the2020 special edition, "ceramic white".
Anyone have any more news? Other than that it appears not much new has been release for the 2020 update. https://www.torquenews.com/1084/2020...details-leaked

They don't even site a source, doubt there will be more info until the official announcement.

It's infuriating and .
For MY2018, the EJ257 in the regular STI was still a CARB LEVII engine; and that's no longer good enough in Cali (and these 12 other states). And then, the Type RA came along with these "reinforced" pistons and now it's "magically" CARB LEVIII and all is well again. Of course, MY2019 uses the same engine as the Type RA, so it's CARB LEVIII as well. So, at this point, from the emissions stand point, Subaru could keep using EJ257 all the way to MY2025; it's all good now . In the meantime, the more modern FA20DIT is still not LEVIII certified and got pulled from Forester . Makes no sense. |

I'd rather them have me option black wheels like VW goes on the GTI for $235. I'd rather them have me option black mirror caps like you can on the MINI. I'd rather them have me not get the same color as a specialty that comes on a Crosstrek. |

I think Pre might be saying that yet another thread has been started using a fakenews.com link. At least that's why I would think it's comical.
Using the EJ in a 2020 special edition? How could that be comical, or even unexpected? Also, if this proves to be true (i.e: where's an actual source for any of this), then I wonder if Subaru will do the same thing they did with the Type RA and make the S209 upgrades available to everyone in the 2020 standard STI, and the Series.White is just the primer for it |

The word "ceramic" is so hot right now in the car world.
It's up there with AI, Machine learning, IoT, Smar,etc.. So.. are we to assume there is a ceramic glass coating on the paint making it less easily scratched than current paint? |

I was thinking "ceramic" as in "toilet bowl" as in "piece of **** EJ", but that's probably just me. Amirite?

Wonder what the package includes. The Hyper Blue was just a color, where the Series Gray included the Type-RAs suspension.

Personally speaking, I kind of like the special paint color models on a lot of cars. It's something you definitely don't get any value out of buying brand new off the lot, but 5 years down the road on the used market they're all in the same price range and you can get an interesting color compared to the standard ones. It's a nice little perk for used customers. This goes for any manufacturer really, since the majority of them do have these "special editions" nowadays.
I just certainly wouldn't pay a premium for a new one like some of these idiots are. At my local dealer they had a $5000 markup on their Series Gray, for what purpose??? |
