Just don't go there. I don't even know where to start with them. The sales person I dealt with was the only good thing about my experience with them. And when it comes down to it, he's just a middle man.
Throughout the deal I was treated poorly. This could really be a Stephen King length novel so... 1. The paper work which was to be all set for my signatures when I arrived was riddled with "fuzzy math". Every one of the numbers on every document, was incorrect, including the odometer reading that was on my extended warranty they got me. Essentially stealing 1000 miles off the warranty right of the bat. 2. They were getting me PA plates, no big deal right? Wrong, ask my manager at work. I spent 7 out of 8 hours of my workday, dealing with the absolute worst people I have ever dealt with jsut trying to make sure that I had plates before my temp tag expired. (two temp tags and whole days on the phone later I finally got them) 3. The right out lied to me and then tried to cover it up by saying they had no idea they were lying. UGH!! Just for the love of God, Allah, Budda, whoever! Just don't put yourself through the agony of dealing with anyone at this dealership. Okay one last note, I test drove the car in Dec 2000, and decided I wanted it shortly after. I was originally going to pick the car up before the new year, the dealer pressed hard for this to happen. However with an impending blizzard on it's way to the area, I told them that there was no way I was going to drive 4+ hours there to pick up my car and then drive back 4+ hours in a blinding snow storm. They laughed and "oh come on the Beauty of AWD"!! Yeah great, my first drive in the car in 2 feet of snow on roads I don't know. Not to mention the person driving me up there to pick the car up does NOT have AWD. They got pissed off. Man, it's almost been a year and I still get enraged Just don't do it. Peace, Oqui

Wow.I feel sorry for you.I bought my car about a year ago from Bill Kolb Jr. Subaru and I actually like them. The price on my car was better than any other place around and the service is the best part.As much as I like them though I can understand where your coming from.

bill kolb subaru sucks NY
I purchased a wrx from them. I was told that it had all these parts. which it had only a few of which I was told. like 3 inch exhaust. it had a 2.5 borla. I was told they would fix the scratch and dings. they did pretty much nothing. They didnt give me floor mats, the stock wheels, interior piece, manual and who knows what else. Iv had to go there multiply times for no reason. They seem to have a problem calling me back. It must be really hard to make a 2 sec call. please beware.

I was thinking of purchasing a used car from them, they have really good pricing on some 2002 Subaru Legacies. I was just wondering what's the general consensus of this dealer? Are they reputable or any problems with them?

I just bought my WRX from them 3 months ago ..... So far I have had no problems with them. My windshield was scratched during a tint install so I brought it to the dealership and showed them... They replaced it under warranty. That saved me a few hundred $. Then my steering wheel had a little gash in it and I showed it to them and they replaced that under warranty too. So, so far they have been the best dealership I have done business with.

This is from an email I just received from Bill Kolb:
To all who were interested or are interested, The Impreza WRX STI in Rally Blue has arrived! We have one currently available at $34,995! It will be a first come, first serve basis. How thoughtful of them! |

Well duh! I bought my 98 Legacy there. They like to ignore you and practice fuzzy math.
NEVER...repeat NEVER deal with them. Please I speak from first hand experience. They are shady in every sense. And yes they took the floor mats out of the car...reason given, "oh they were dirty, you didn't want them". Stupid!! Peace, Oquipah |

They just keep blowing sunshine up my a$$ about everything and nothing is getting done. They do have the best pricing around, but i rather pay more and not have to deal with them. I am in theier shop almost every week with a different issue and nothing gets resolved. STAY AWAY FROM BILL KOLB SUBARU!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 |

I just bought a WRX from Bill Kolb...their sales staff is pretty good and I got a good price--exactly what edmunds said I should pay.
My girl also just got the impreza sport wagon from them...same experience. BUT...we haven't actually gotten our cars yet...so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we dont have any mishaps that cause us to want to use unhappy faces. |

I cant tell you how much I love reading these threads about Bill Kolb Subaru. Especially the Wrx kids. Its absolutely amazing how f'ing little these people know about warranty procedure and basic common sense. I work in service and after monitoring these threads for a year or two now, thought I'd start posting.
I laugh so hard at a lot of the things that they "think" they know because they read it in some hillbilly mag, or a friend of a friend who has a brother who knows a guy who works on Fords told them some BS, or they've been working on cars for 15 years in their daddy's shop and think they know everything. 95% of you know NOTHING--but thats ok. Feel free to ask me anything CAR RELATED--not SALES related. I'll do my best to dispell any rumors and/or common misconceptions. --let the feeding frenzy begin |

LIQUILITE3-perhaps you'd like to clarify your post? I'm unsure why you decided to flame here or why you insinuate that people who are buying their cars actually shouldn't expect them to be what they ordered.
I don't personally know the other people that have posted here, but I can also assume that you don't either. So I suggest you keep the personal attacks to yourself and add posts that are relative to the topic. I originally posted after buying the car and as a non hillbilly, well-educated professional who did extensive research beforehand and brought a calculator to the dealership, I hold the accountant who made errors on every single figure, and the dealership who couldn't finalize the sale agreement accountable. I assume that you are in some way affiliated with Bill Kolb Subaru? Yes? And before you decide to try to bash or flame my response try re-reading the rules of the forum, which include but are not limited to the swear dodge. If you want members to take you seriously post in a serious manner. Peace, Oquipah (Still highly recommend not dealing with Bill Kolb Jr. Subaru) Last edited by Oquipah; 06-23-2004 at 01:06 PM. |

If you really read the post, you'd see that it was not directed soley at yourself, but more of a broad sweeping general comment about most young wrx owners. As far as the failures of our sales dept are concerned, well, thats unfortunate. I remember your situation even though I'm not from that dept. and actually agreed with your complaints.
Are my comments inflammatory?--yes, but then again what better a way to get noticed and try to teach people/customers about procedure. |

I'm glad you remember my case, I'm sure it was a lesson well learned...hopefully. I do recall being told that the accountant that worked his fuzzy math was "let go" for incompetance. Was the woman I spoke with 8 times a day 'let go' as well? I caught her in flat out lies on a number of occasions.. For instance, telling me that she spoke with PADOT personally to get my tags, yet when I call PADOT myself they had no record of a tag request...this two weeks AFTER I was told that they had been requested. At any rate, your comment was not "solely" aimed towards me, but is was aimed 'partially towards my post and subsequent posts. Therefore I felt obligated to reply. Sincerely, Oquipah |

Just double and triple even quadruple check everything. Make sure what you agreed on for the total cost of the car is equal to what you are really paying. And don't sign anything until you are CERTAIN that it has all that it's supposed to have. This dealer tried to pull many tricks. Ones that I would have gotten burned on if I hadn't done research and been prepared to challenge everything. And if at all possible...arrange to get your own tags if you are out of state. Peace, Oquipah |
