Default Drip Pan for Engine Stand?

I know the V8 guys have drip pans that fit engine stands and the basic footprint of their engines, but those are long and narrow when we need them to be short and wide.

Does anyone know of a Subaru/VW/Porsche-specific drip pan that fits on an engine stand?

I don't have a specific part number for you but I just grapped a generic one when I picked up my stand at harbor freight. There are literally so many options out there its impossible to not find one at a basic autoparts store.

Also keep in mind a long narrow pan just needs to be rotated 90* and it becomes short and wide . . . Lol.

I literally thought that and was like "man the OP sucked at tetris as a kid"

But yeah, generic drip tray from a parts store shoved under in a position that works. Move as needed.

Yeah, I was just going to let that slide. LOL

I actually put magnets on my engine stand base so the drip tray sticks to it when I am using it for that.

Yeah... So as I originally wrote, does anyone know of an engine drip pan that fits on an engine stand for a Subaru/VW/Porsche engine?

Good luck just rotating this pan 90 degrees...

And the flat bottom ones also fit on an engine stand. I have mine on the stand and it's not molded which was why I didn't think of a molded pan.

That's way to fancy for people that actually build engines.

Maybe I should have put this in the "Tools" subforum.

Ok, well if you "need" a molded tray then enjoy the searching. There is zero reason to have those, 99% of drip trays will "fit on an engine stand" as well as be useful in the other applications you want one for. FYI, the Local Porsche racing shop uses a basic flat drip tray on their stands (who I copied).

Good luck!!! Enjoy the projects.

Meh, I wouldn't mind whipping one up out some sheet aluminum. It'll give me some practice time for my TIG...but in reality, that is way down on my list.

Not so much a "need" so much as a quarantine pondering. The engine is already on the stand and I've had to clean up more spillage from two catch tubs on the floor below the longblock than I'd like to do in the future.

I'm all about the right tools for the job, just curious if anyone knew about something I hadn't seen yet.
