HAHA Thanks P!
Time for some horns. After the incident I decided I was going to do a new horn setup with a pretty harness (hehe) and I left the old ones with the body shop, his son had a mazda 3, figured it would be a cool gift. The urgency - I was cut off badly last week, I felt so dumb; hitting the horn to be met with silence.... black all things |

good call on the all black!
maybe its because I am an old timer, but I am not a fan of the horns visible through the fascia. |

Amen... Ill never understand why people accentuate a horn by painting it bright colors I'd rather see a FMIC, Chassis bracing, or an oil cooler behind the grill

X2 Jeff! I've always thought that colored horns were awkward. I bought red because black was out of stock.
Horns installed 10x cleaner than before with a cleaner harness vs random exposed wires and terminals. Everything was shielded and heat shrunk. The saddest part about the horn install was realizing the grill was snapped in 3 areas. I don't know when and where it took place but it sucks. Rather than cry about it all day I just mixed some 2 part epoxy and will give it some time to set before doubling up. |

Hey man that sucks about the grill. A friend of mine showed me a quick alternative to using epoxy, you mix super-glue(Gorilla, Krazy etc.) with baking soda powder and it basically turns into this super hard substance and can be used to bond all types of plastic stuff. |

Thank you sir. I wish I could say I was 100% satisfied. The more I comb through the car bit by bit the more I see "mint with flares" flee haha.
Cheers to imperfectly perfect. |

Found some goodies on offer up. The future just became more reliable. If anyone has experience with CSS, I'm going or I'd like to look into making this block closed deck via CNC CSS. Share your experience and thoughts please.
A beautifully seasoned sleeved block w/ crank, the crank will be for sale, it does need a micro polish. 100mm Wiseco, missing rings. HAPPY FATHERS DAY LADS Last edited by JDMJNKY; 06-21-2020 at 07:52 PM. |

Bitter sweet updates - Heard a pop on the fwy coming home Friday eve and made it home, so these old achilles are awesome in my book in this regard.
Spent today, my birthday, buying new tires, yay me. Given the new fatty fit, I think it's time for a proper coilover.... in the name of forward progress, piston rings arrived today. |

Well today I went to raise the car to make room for the new rubber, it did not come as a surprise but the yr old cheeapbay coilovers w/ less than 10k miles on them, gave up the ghost. Oil covered in dust, so it could have been a month or so ago that it happened as I recall the suspension being a bit rougher than normal.
For the past 4hrs I've been reading A LOT of suspension posts across various forums. I'm torn between the following RCE Tarmac II's > RSR I sport > Bill B16 > ST XTA. Yes, cost is a huge factor at the moment with all my projects going on. As of RN I'm leaning towards the RSR as they leave room for growth for a reasonable price. I'm waiting to hear back on the TII's and I'll make my final choice soon. Last edited by JDMJNKY; 07-08-2020 at 06:35 PM. |

Not sure what price range the coils are in for the ones you listed. But have you checked out Feal's 441?

Yessir I did. I've read many reviews about them and I'm impressed with their new ADJ. bumpstop, in fact I was planning on going that route because of the BS kit, but, for whatever reason I can't commit to a set of those.....IDK why. I'd really like to give the German design a chance I guess.

Well boys I'm down to two choices and reality has set in. The biggest deciding factor for these top two candidates would be usage. My current usage vs. what I aspire to be, tells me I'm not ready for anything else. How do I choose which? IDK....we will see

Got a call from the machine shop today, seems there's a possible issue w/ the keepers and retainers, they're not seating at the top of the retainer. Brian and Danny/David at BC have been great w/ helping us resolve this, customer service A+, I should hear back tomorrow from the machine shop.
+1mm Valves... is a go. Now, for the overdue, and toughest choice I've made all year (drumroll please).....The start of a suspension revision!! I must say thanks to both companies for the QUICK shipping given the economic circumstances - given the same set of circumstances, the subaru is also the first ever money pit that has taken me this deep into credit card territory, LOL. "Buy a subaru I said..." Seriously, I love the car. The fault, the blame, is all mine. Don't mind me as I am Just expressing some of my thoughts. |
