Default 05 9-2x Auto to manual

Not sure if this should be here or in conversions. But since 9-2x's are becoming more rare I decided to get an 05 aero with auto trans and convert to 6 speed since I have everything to go in it. My current 9-2x is a manual and is being retired because of rust. I have questions out to iWire on this but it's been several days and they haven't responded.

Would the easiest option be to pull the full wiring harness from my manual 9-2x and swap it into the new one?

Electrical isn't my forte. I can read a wiring diagram fairly well but don't have any tools for measuring current. I have read some of the write ups in how to do this conversion and it seems the biggest issue in creating a DIY for other people is differences in wiring from one year to the next, so I know roughly what to look for but would question screwing it up constantly. Especially when it comes to abs and the nps.

Any advice would be appreciated. Or if there's anyone in the mid-Hudson Valley who knows how to do this. I'll get you plenty of your favorite beverage.

Upon further research I have now heard that NSS may cause AVCS not to work properly. One person said they found a work around on the NSS and that they got the AVCS to function, but didn't say if one was a result of the other. Their profile says hasn't been active since 2012, so guessing a message would go unread. Any one know anything about this?

No. I think I have it mostly figured out. Keep trying to get started on it but life is always getting in the way. Hopefully next weekend I'll be able to get into. Now my biggest concern is long term. It seems as though people who have done various wiring write ups with this start off fine but eventually end up with issues like bogging down at idle and stalling. Seems like the only sure fire solution in the long run is to swap a MT bulkhead harness in.

Does anyone have any insight on the long term issues with the auto to manual swap?

kind of curious that the wiring is such an issue, is it because the original is an auto?

nothing electrical was of concern when I went from 5MT to 6MT, at least from what I recall

That's because everything is already wired for manual in your car. Only difference is wiring the DCCD. When going from auto to manual there's several things that need attention; VSS, NSS, reverse lights, speedo in the cluster, etc. Manual to manual is pretty straight forward.

Yeah but not much choice since these cars are becoming more rare. Especially clean ones.
