Default Shifter feels loose, even after billet bushing install

So I've been chasing this problem since 2009. I have changed all the bushings multiple times and right now I have billet aluminum bushings everywhere including the u-joint. The only rubber bushing would be the rear shifter stay bushing. The shifter still wobbles left right and up and down. Its not as notchy as every other wrx I have drove in including those with and without bushings. I am at a loss on trying to find the problem. This problem was present when stock and now at what should have been the most stiffest point.

2006 WRX 5 speed
Kartboy short shifter.
Billet aluminum bushings (all of them)
kartboy rear shifter stay.

Is it something inside my transmission thats bent or broken?

If you are not seeing any wiggles then it's internal to the transmission. I have see this happen when the detent balls wear out the detent ball receiver inside (sorry, I lack a better way to describe it).

Can you post a picture of where these balls would wear out? I'm not sure where the balls you are referring to is.

Inside the trans.....you need to pull the trans and open it up.

Have you checked the receiver for the ball on the lower end of the shifter? This is the only part I can think of that would allow for up and down motion.
