Default 2014 WRX - Hard Start / Long crank

If I park the car overnight or go to work (6-8 hours) the car starts fine no issues.

If I head to the gym/school and come out after 1-3 hours and try to start it I have this issue shown in the video.

I took it to a mechanic and a Subaru dealership, both times the car magically went back to normal. I brought recordings and everything but they couldn't get it to happen. When I picked up the car from a shop and the dealership the car started up like normal.

It just gave me a code for a missfire in cylinder #2. I'm going to see if maybe the spark plugs are worn out and check the coilpacks as well.

The car has 46k miles I bought it with 42k. If anyone can maybe help me out on what else to check on thursday I'd appreciate it.

Could it be a leaky injector?

Plugs are cheap. How long since last set?

I was researching and I saw that it could be a possibility.

That's similar to how my car starts after the battery has been disconnected.
Only the first start after reconnecting it, but really really similar to your video.

So my car went to the shop, loose ground touching starter, causing sparks to be seen underneath the car when I tried to start it. Also CAM position sensor went bad again. Suppose the bad ground could have caused this to fail, last one was inatalled 1 year ago. Problem solved.

No, I still haven't figured out the issue. I've swapped out the fuel pressure regulator as well cleaned out the MAF sensor. I still have this issue and it's beyond frustrating.

That sounds like your sparkplugs or maybe a failing injector? I was having a similar issue in my 04 and I replaced the sparkplugs and it was fine and CEL went away.

I have swapped injectors and spark plugs but still have this issue. Took it to shops and they couldn't figure it out as well.
