Default New Brake Pad Selections from DBA - Street and Track

DBA has been upping the game to include some high quality brake pads to go along with the renowned rotors.

The compounds can best be described as street, combo and track only.

Street

Light track/AutoCross/Heavy street

We are still getting used to them with some try outs

Dan at Mach V ran a set of the street/track ones at Summit Point on his 2015 WRX. Dusty - but no fade or judder. Good results so far.

And track only pads

Here is a review of these on a C7 Corvette

Some of the pad shapes and compounds are still coming in so the SD pads are hard to get.

We have run some of the XP 650 on a WRX at Summit Point. They held up to track use for one day on Mach V's car. Quite dusty though.

We also have this review on the XP+735's

Street and heavy track use - no not so much. Especially on a WRX.

But the XP650 is streetable albeit with a bit of dust.

Parts incoming - more testing and review to follow.

Im interested how the XP650 compares to the Hawk HP+ or Street Race pads.

Also how the SP500 or SD610 compare to the Hawk 5.0 Streets pads.

I have had a set on Mach V's 2015 WRX w/ Brembo's for several months.

I need his full report but this is what we have talked about.

Brake torque is good and there is little to no noise. Rotor wear is TBD.
They do make a lot of dust.

At a low effort track day he was able to lap Summit Point pretty well.

I have ran plenty of HPS, HPS 5.0 and Stoptech pads in various Subaru's.

Once they get in the rears I will test them after I am finished with the GiroDisc SS that I am testing now.

I have the SP500's for my STI now but so far I just took good pictures.

Hope to get them on next week.

Last Humans Garage did a good review on the 2015 WRX versions on his youtube channel

We are getting more and more feedback on these pads. I have a set of the street pads for my 08 STI and my C6 Z06 to install that are just waiting for better weather.

Ken and Nick -

How would you compare the DBA XP650 and XP+735 to the Carbotech XP8?

The XP650 is probably a bit less than an XP8 but is quiet and actually streetable although it is dusty.

The 735 is roughly an XP10.
