US firearms was making some of the nicest single actions we have ever had, everything in house at the old colt building. They could've been bought new for under a grand and ordered just how you wanted; a few years ago they went under and now the market has realized what they missed out on. Anyone who knows what they have is asking north of four digits.

Not much.
I shot it. It mistimed two out of six and it burned my hand from the lower cylinder gap. They told the owner of that gun to change his grip which is stupid advice. You draw - you fire and then -if you must first fiddle with your grip- you die. Going to shoot again the Kimber K6s today. Get more time with it. Loved the staged trigger, the radical dehorning and the minimal cylinder to frame gap. You couldn't customize a S&W or Ruger or whatever to this level at any cost. |

rails? exposed hammer? 2" barrel? are they stupid? If that gun was DAO, hammerless and the rails went away, it would be a winner. that is, if the extraction works as it should. I carried a ruger LCR for a bit. for the price, I like the gun a lot. It's winter time now, so concealing a snubby .357 is easier, so it sits in the safe. |

Shrug
I had a 4" bright stainless Colt King Cobra .357mag, it didn't do anything for me. Sold it for a bit more than I paid for it. |

On another note ... I bought a Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec because I have a soft spot for the GI pistol.
Right away I sent it to Springfield's custom shop to do lots of custom work including "radical" dehorning and blueing. The dehorning came out fair but not radical enough for me. The blueing is not nice, apparently the old chemicals are now illegal, etc. Enter the nice people at Clark Custom Guns: https://clarkcustomguns.com/gun/meltdown/ I'm very tempted to have them melt it and hard chrome parts of it. By the time I get it back it'll be a candidate for most expensive 1911 folly. |

Clark customs is great. You won’t be disappointed. For bluing I’d have to toss my Dan Wesson 44 up there.

I shot a 3" .357. It burned my hand with the fire out of the lower barrel and it mistimed twice with its labyrinthine transfer bar.
Other than that ...apparently it was a John Browning design thus proving that there ain't nobody who bats 100. |
