2005 WRX 4EAT help.
Hi. I hope someone can shed some lights here..Alright so the car here is a kinda, rare automatic 2005 wrx my dad bought because he can't drive stick, tranny died, replaced it with a jdm one (with correct rear diff) it worked but didn't shift gears as it should on "WOT". Now I believe the front diff died too.
So my question is what other 4eat that are compatible with the 2005 WRX? And no swapping it manual is NOT an option, read above. I wish I wouldn't scrap the original one.. Someone said my transmission module might be defective. (I'll buy one off eBay) I thought an 04-05 Forester XT would be good but they are DBW and the 05 Wrx are cable throttle so it's a no go..and the 05 Saab 9-2x aero 4eat is as rare as the wrx one..help lol

I think any 02-05 wrx 4eat will work, the difference is the cv axles. 02-04 used the old style axles, with the stub coming out of the transmission. In 2005 they switched to long male ended cv axle. So if you get a 2004 wrx transmission, get the axle with it, or buy new axles.
I have a 4eat wrx also, put a shift correction kit in it, shifts much quicker and firmer. Not as slow and mushy as they come from the factory. |
