Default Rally Sport Direct ups Lap Battle prize payouts!

Lap Battle will now consist of 6 diverse classes based on modification level, car preparation and tire tread wear rating. This giving you even more ways to win!

In an effort to help competitors grow within the Time Attack community, we are adopting the Redline Time Attack rule set to hopefully better standardize Time Attack events on a local and national level. The addition of 3 NEW Street classes now gives competitors the chance to compete with other competitors of similar preparation level.

The prize payout structure has also changed, so now it will be even easier to go home with prize money. It is based on participation, so the more people in your class, the bigger the payout! We are currently in talks with several more contingency sponsors, hopefully we can help lift some of the financial burden of racing of the competitor's shoulders while promoting local business dedicated to supporting the motorsports community.

If you have any questions, please visit LapBattle.com

New Classing structure:

Street Class: Street class will be identical to Redline Time Attack Street Class, And will consist of 3 sub classes, AWD, RWD and FWD.

Race Class: The race class will consist of a combination of the Redline Time Attack Modified and Unlimited classes. It will also consist of 3 sub classes, AWD, RWD and FWD.

Trophies and Prizes:

Official Lap Battle Trophies will be given to the fastest overall competitors in each class. Also, the winner of each class will receive $25 off their next Lap Battle entry.

Rally Sport Direct contingency prizes:

Rally Sport Direct will provide contingency prizes to each class per event according to class participation as follows:

If a class has 3 or more competitors, 1st place will receive $25.

If a class has 5 or more competitors, 1st place will receive $50.

If a class has 10 or more competitors, 1st place will receive $100 and 2nd place will receive $25.

If a class has 15 or more competitors, 1st place will receive $150 and 2nd place will receive $50.

If a class has 20 or more competitors, 1st place will receive $200, 2nd place will receive $75 and 3rd place will receive $25.

Rally Sport Direct will also provide a contingency prize of $50 to the overall fastest competitor at each event.

All dollar amounts are in the form of in store credit at Rally Sport Direct, all prizes are valid for 30 days after the event. To be eligible, each competitor must display the supplied Rally Sport Direct stickers as well as complete a Lap Battle contingency forum, both available at the Lap Battle drivers meeting held before each event. Read the Redline rules, I'm not sure of the extent of your modifications or car prep.

Your WRX would be legal for the Street class if you were to get some 140 tread wear tires for it.

2.1.1.1 An engine swap is considered one major engine upgrade. However, owners are permitted to swap an engine into their USDM vehicle if the engine was offered in the same chassis/model elsewhere in the world (JDM for example) for that chassis/model, and the engine swap will NOT count as a major engine upgrade.

2.1.5 Every Street Class vehicle must have a functional Catalytic Converter installed as part of the engine exhaust system. Replacement of the OEM Catalytic converter with an "aftermarket" converter is permitted. Catalytic converter does not need to be in OE location. Random inspections will be performed during tech inspection. The top three finishers in each Street Class will also be subject to an inspection of the catalytic converter. An infrared pyrometer will be used to test the external temperature of the catalytic converter(s) to verify they are indeed functional and functioning. Installing a "cut-out" or "bypass" in the exhaust system ahead of the catalytic converter, so as to divert the exhaust gasses away from the cat, is not permitted. Waste-gates dumping to atmosphere are permitted. No portion of the catalytic converter is to be located backward of the rear most portion of the body of the vehicle (catalytic converter must be COMPLETELY under the body of the vehicle).

Hey Hambone, I'll get Big Tom to upgrade your DP to high flow cat. That and some sticky street tires and you'll be set.

Yay, props to RSD and Biggie for doing this, there is a much larger chance I will be coming out now. Street class and Race class right? No stock class?

"All Street Class competitors are REQUIRED to use a neck collar at a minimum."

Is that rule applied? Does LapBattle of neck collars we can borrow? Or can we run over to the kart place and borrow some?

Maybe I do have a chance in the street class if all you guys get bumped up because you don't have cats. I don't really care if I'm not competitive it's just for fun. but now I need new tires, no more Hoosier r6's. I guess I'm just have to drive around town on them to wear them out so I can put something good on those wheels.
