The Mazdas do make 250hp and 320tq, so not bad I suppose.

That's decent power. Yeah probably just under 40k with deals. Maybe CPO route is a better option there. The transmission issue recently makes me a bit wary though.

You got to take the charger off your list, it’s a 25 year old Benz.
On your original list I’d buy an Avalon, if it could be had for those dollars. |

Yeah, I hear ya, looks wise the Charger is just tired. The Avalon is really nice, but just looks boring vs the Camry if going Toyota. I have been so turned off by 4cylinder turbo automatics driving one the past 3 years, but that's a BMW that I've hated. I should probably at least try others.

Why do you want a V6? I get V6s in tiny sports cars where they're the big mean engine option and their compact size is for a good reason. For everything else, they're the consolation prize for people who think 6 is automatically better than 4. Inline 6s and flat 6s are at least balanced. V6s need big power-sucking balance shafts. The only car made better by a V6 on your list is the Camry, and only because Toyota don't turbo (which used to be the only reason people wanted V6s). The Accord 2.0T is faster and more fun.
Get the Scat Pack V8 if you're going to buy based on the engine. V8s are a no-brainer. Buy them now before they're gone. A 25yo Mercedes E-Class is a better starting point than an 8 year old Ford CD4 platform (Edge). |

And feel free to hijack since I'm actually not considering any car shenanigans! Project Mountain House first on my financial want list, and I don't plan on doing anything with that until at least May so that's that. |

If you are worried about transmission problems, write Edge ST off your list.
I second Camry or Highlander, maybe even RAV4 Prime. Mazda CX-9? Too expensive? |

It's had a fair share of electrical gremlins. They were all fixed under warranty, but honestly, I worry about this car long term. We've said if it has 1 mroe major electrical failure/issue, we're going to get rid of it. It looks great, drives great. Makes all kinds of great noises. Twin Turbo V6 is peppy. Gas Mileage sucks. We get ~20MPG at mostly highway driving. |

A V6 (and especially a TT V6) is just going to deliver a better driving experience, and not a huge difference in fuel economy. |

If you remotely knew how restrictive the factory exhaust was, and or bothered to listen to a video, you'd know it by no means has highway drone or resonance.

My '15 was a good car. And if you just wanted to get from point A to B on the highway it was okay. Fuel economy at 70mph and above was pretty terrible compared to the EPA rating.
