I finally got around to building my ammo storage system that I've been thinking of for a while:
I love these MTM Ammo Crates, just need a few more to be able to consolidate everything onto the shelf. 4k 9mm, 3k 223, 6-8k 22, lots of other misc ammo. Hope I built it strong enough. |

I'd be concerned about the rails buckling eventually when fully extended, but that's certainly better than I could do.

The slides are rated for 100 lbs each. I'm more worried about the hardware connecting them to the frame. I used 2 inch cabinet screws which are designed to hold a load just like that but I'm not sure if I used enough. They sat overnight partially loaded so I'm going to check on them and see if anything shifted. I didn't hear any loud crashes overnight so nothing completely failed.

Picked up my great Uncle's old .357. He carried it in his car up until about 6 months before he died at 92 years old. He was a real deal badass.

^^an engraving of your uncle´s name or initials would be nice^^
and now to something complete different: the correction of an old mistake. I bought the gun in 2002 with the scope; it´s damn heavy, it doesn´t look good, but to be fair, the HauptKampfVisier HKV (main fight scope) wasn´t available for the civilian market. Pure luck, I found a good deal for a used one. |

Alternate reply: Is that thing really inaccurate or are Storm troopers just that bad of a shot? I know nothing about it but that looks cool. |

in modern words, it was fake news. A few guys had a few problems, but the majority was happy and is still happy with the military version called G36. Mine´s called SL8 for the civilian use, only semi automatic. The accuracy is better than my shooting skills.
edit: here´s a really good vid |

Was a fun day in limited today. Competition was a bit light but time of fun. Borrowed a buddies Edge and landed second place with it. Now I'm itching for my own to get finished.

I am thinking about building a 9mm AR pistol. I've built 2 5.56's from stripped lowers and been really happy with them. Would build something using Glock mags. I hesitate because I'm not sure how much use I would get out of it and don't really have a reason for one, but I didn't NEED to build 2 AR's and I love them! Anybody built/ building a 9mm AR?

9mm AR's are silly fun. Cheap, quiet and just giggle worthy. Do it.

what's the going rate on an SL8 these days? Guy just posted a NIB example locally for $2750 which is high by $1k over the last couple I saw move earlier this year. Obviously, some premium for NIB but still seems WAY high.
did some horse-trading of random AR parts made into a rifle for an Izzie SKS made in 1954. Who'd a thunk that might be a super deal just a few years ago? |

So I'm really liking the CZ SP-01 I got (thanks guize) but in my continuing efforts to waste money I'm considering modifying it. Specifically having it milled for a reflex sight or having it cajunized. What do you guys think would be better? I'm a novice shooter but I'm learning quickly. I really like the red dot I put on my AR but I suppose a laser would do the same job cheaper?

I'm not a fan of RMRs on larger pistols. As the owner of a cajunized SP01, do it.
