I get the RCA wires up the center of the wall from the receiver to the drop ceiling and over to the corner. Then I tired up extra wire to the existing wires in the wall and pulled that wire up to the drop ceiling. I attached both ends of the RCA wires and start pulling both wires down. Halfway down the wires detach. So I run to Harbor Freight and grab a fiberglass wire pulling tool. I proceed to attach the spare wire again and get it up. While doing that, the tool is the type that individual rods thread into each other every foot or so, I thought I had 7-8 rods attached and the fiberglass slips inside the wall. I pull with the wire and it does nothing. Can’t see it from the drop ceiling. I pull some more until that wire comes free. I gave up and left that rod in the wall. So then I go to Home Depot and get a 25 foot winding steel fishing wire tool. I got that Wire up from the bottom, attach both speaker and RCA cables again. I struggled getting them down. So I retreat and do just the speaker wire, no problem. Repeat to get just the RCA cable down and it still gets stuck, so I pull it back up and split the Red from the White on the RCA cable and start pulling red (I believe) down. That one gets stuck as well but I keep pulling down hoping to force it. Well, it’s stuck and stuck good, along with the Steel fishing wire, in the wall. Gave up and I don’t know what I’m going to do. Pics of varying states and thr Home Depot wire tool.

For example TV (apps on the TV) will sometimes do ATMOS, or DD+ for various services. However, Chromecast (with googletv) won't. I'm over it. Using DTS Neu X on the non DD+ (PCM Stereo feeds). |

We used a long long drill bit to drill through the floor boards. This hole lead to the basement area which is open ceiling. Neat. Except that most holes ended in a very tight area.
We had to use a wide drill bit (1/2 to 1 inch) just to open up the holes enough for cables to pass. RCA cable was the worst as it had the plug. I didnt want to cut it. The speaker wires were easier, as I could fold them and pull them. We did have the cables and wire puller get stuck at times. Hole wasn't big enough, or the puller's hook was tangled. Might want to try push it back and undo the pull, try one cable at a time, or widen the holes a bit. Took a friend an I 6 hours with lunch break to do just the pulls. I took care of finishing up after he left. |

Mine is in the basement, so we can’t really go from underneath.
The wall down there have a texture to them. I wonder if it would be worth it to pull the drywall down in the spring, attach some conduit to the posts and put new, smooth drywall down there and paint the theatre area. The current state of the basement: |

If a wire got stuck in the chase, we would immediately stop and free it, never get it stuck. Sometimes it helps to pull on the other wires in the same run, from either/both directions. That's all I got. |

Suspended ceiling? That would be my go-to.

I tried pulling from the top but it’s stuck good. I was just looking at the marks on the steel fishing tool, the 24 foot mark is just outside of the outlet box. So that means that it’s only 8-10 inches inside the wall potentially. Trying to see what small, skinny but long thing I can get in there to try and wedge it free.

What else is run to that box? Maybe try pulling on those wires a bit in an attempt to free the fish up.

If you are not in a rush, CES is coming up, and new models are being announced. These will typically ship in March. I'd still recommend waiting a couple months beyond that for price, demand, and firmware issues to settle down as is the norm with any new display launch. |

I don’t see conduit on either end, on the floor looking up through the box or up in the drop ceiling looking down. |

i guessing a fire block in the wall that has a "gap" jut big enough for the fish tap? can you put a light source in the bottom, stick your head the ceiling and see all the way down?

might have to pull from the top hard. Maybe the fish hook got stuck
Worst case, you have to cut the run wire and the sub wire and do another run. |

It looks like the block is so close the box, here's a pic I took laying on the floor looking up, you can see the 24 foot mark of the 25 foot steel tool. One of my best friends has an angled drill bit, he might come over in a few weeks and help me out, after my 2nd covid vaccine shot and once I've got my 95% immunity. |

Today I decided to balance the rear speakers again. See my pic on previous page to see why.
They sounded good, but I still felt like the rear balance was off. Got the idea to connect the rear speakers to the front inputs, that way I could play some music and balance to the center seating position. The new banana connections behind the tv made it a snap to do this. +2 to left, -2.5 to right I also pointed the tweeters differently to center the soundstage. Worked great! Spiderman Far From Home, around 1:15 has some of the best full surround scenes to test this out. |

Get one of those cheap snake cams that work with your cell phone.
Do you currently have anything in the wall that moves you can use, or is everything stuck now. |

Sorry posted in the wrong thread but is it in a spot you could cut a hole and free it up?

The actual speaker cable works, still able to pull that up/down, so the single RCA cable is stuck on something. Yeah, I think that's on the list, I hate to cut a hole in the wall and have to patch it, but if nothing else works, that's a last resort. |

If it were me, I'd pull everything out of the wall, and pull two strings through with the speaker wire when it comes out. Tie one string off as an emergency back-up spare.
Then I'd prepare to pull it all back in. I'd google how to tie a string to a wire and tape it. This guy goes overkill but you get the picture: Starting with one cable at a time put them together to make a nice long smoothly tapered mess covered ina layer of tape so there are no sharp bumps to catch inside the wall as you pull. One person feeds and one applies steady pulling pressure. A little release and tug should get you past any random obstruction. If you have cross-bracing in the wall and you're stuck at one where a hole was drilled that's too small, well, that camera will come in handy. |

Can you remove some ceiling tiles and try looking down toward that junction box to see where it’s snagged? Worst case scenario you could run an external rectangular cable conduit up the corner of the room, then thru the drop ceiling.
It might’ve gotten stuck because you don’t have any art hanging up on the walls. |

Two loops and tape it, it won't come loose.
