Hmmm. . . probably.

The Baja heated seats are 2 settings only. . . low and high, and it's done by switching the base/back elements between a series or parallel wiring scheme. On low, they're in series. . . higher resistance, less heat. In High, they're in parallel. . less resistance, so hotter. There are probably some make-or-break tstats incorporated into the elements for safety, but other than that, they're just 'dumb' elements.

The 05+ Legacy heated seats use a PWM controller with a thermostat mounted in the seat that provides feedback to the controller, which has 4 heat settings. . . didn't pay any attention to how they're connected (series or parallel) but it doesn't really matter.

So to answer the question, yes, you could use an 05+ LGT heated seat switch, but you'd most likely need the elements with tstats from said vehicle. . .as the controller wouldn't have a tstat to work from.

Probably easier to just get 05+ Legacy heated seats and transplant 'em. Take note that the 05-06 switches are much larger than this 08 one. . . I'm not sure you'd have space to mount it. The switches in the 08 Legacy this one came from are smaller than the 00-04 Legacy/Baja heated seat switches, and mounted waaay back under the armrest, which a lot of 07-09 LGT owners complain about. Also the donor 08 LGT had Si-Drive, and I think the ones without have different (larger) switches.

Confused yet?

Oops. I don't think I worded that clearly. I'd like to take the later seats and transplant them in the Baja and keep the Baja switch, but that sounds complicated since they are using a different method. Darn.

Well, that would actually be easier. . .but you'd need to rewire the seats to work without the PWM controller. It's very possible. . . but would probably involve tearing down the seats and installing an aftermarket set of seat heaters (which will work with the old style series/parallel switch), or attempting to rewire the 05+ seats to work without the controller. It's doable, but if they don't have tstats, you risk overheating them. . . and your butt.

EDIT: this is a close up of the 08 LGT Si-Drive heated seat switch, next to my Baja's coin holder. I'll get a pic of the bezel I made if anyone's interested, but it's not what I'd call A-list quality. I made it out of 1/8" ABS sheet with a drill press, utility knife, and files.

since it hasnt been posted on any of the pages (actually just went through all 8 to make sure) 02-07 wrx GMS aluminum radiator and GMS silicone hoses fit. Had to trim the lower hose to accomedate the extra width of the radiator. The upper hose is really close to the alternator cover but, i diddnt shorten it (i may trim it eventually).

As posted earlier the SPT intake works and i saw the a member had a looked like the spt intake heat shield. When i went to put my heatshield on it diddn look close to fitting so i never put it on. Can someone chime in on the fitment of it? I got the 02-07 wrx fitment one.

installed H&R 25mm wheel spacers this weekend. i'd always hated how the wheels looked sunken in, now they look flush with the exterior as they should have stock. i can also upgrade the rotors/calipers in the future beyond OEM size now as well.

Perrin lightened crank pulley works, and was an easy install. i've got an automatic and managed to get it on, just had a buddy bump the ignition as described in other posts. didn't notice any power gains however.

subtle solutions dead pedal is probably the best value part i've ever bought. took ten seconds to install, and makes a huge difference in traffic or long roadtrips. looks sharp as well.

i've got the perrin short ram intake on order presently, hoping to get it installed next weekend. will probably keep the snorkel on at first, until i can get a radiator cover. i'll probably try the whey protein mod as referenced here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...y#post37323286

got the 1" subtle solutions kit as well, but i think ill wait to install it with some new shocks /springs, as im finding the roads in the D.C. area to be atrocious. suggestions?

If the roads are poor don't get a firmer suspension or lower the car. Stick with replacement stock OEM pieces and get some good quality tires and a proper alignment. That'll get you the best ride quality.

stoptech wrx stainless braided front brake lines work on the baja, front
stoptech legacy outback stainless braided brake lines work in the rear if you bend the metal tabs back 1/4-1/2" as the lines are about 1/2" shorter than stock rubber lines.

i'll get part numbers if i didn't already throw the packaging away.

will be fitting a sti avcs and oil feed line on my 05 turbo model soon. i hope it fits.

The STi TMIC has been covered many times, I don't recall seeing any others. I can get a stock Baja one for $95 at the local yard, and a WRX one for the same. Paying on average $300 for an STi TMIC and not have it fit the scoop very well doesn't really interest me much.

Thanks for trying though?

Maybe I just overlooked it going through all of the pages, but did anyone state a full exhaust switch? I have a 06 turbo baja 5 spd. I am wanting to change up dp all the way back so I can run a catless system (no emissions testing in Al).

For my own piece of mind, I saw a suggestion for a vag com cable instead of tatrix for a tune, and I saw something about replacing the fuel pump. and to do aeromotive instead of walbro(which I've used before. Which one am I looking at for this setup. http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/fuel-pumps/
Please feel free to rudly correct me on anything I'm stupid about. Looking for bolt ons as this is my daily driver, and I prefer to do it myself. Any and all advice is appreciated.

I just ordered up some 3" stainless pipe, hangers, resonator, and a Borla Sportsman stainless muffler on eBay and had a local exhaust shop bend and weld it all up. . .with stainless wire.

It's a pretty simple exhaust system to have fabbed up given it doesn't have to go on top of anything.

be careful to use power source with vag com else you will drain your battery in just a couple minutes.

I've thought about doing that, but I was hoping there was something bolt on, since it's my daily driver, I would like to just knock it out myself over the weekend.

Xcelleration has a Baja specific TBE, but it was a bit on the high side price wise.

Not true. I use vagcom cables on both of my subies. I have been doing it for years. IT DOES NOT DRAIN YOUR BATTERY.

Where do you guys come up with all of this misinformation??

WRONG!!! BCracing and I worked together to make a setup that increased the payload of the baja and rode smooth as glass on forest service roads at 80 mph.

Call up Import image racing and tell Josh you want the same setup Sean Fillner has on your baja.

The strut cartridges are 50mm longer so you can do a 2" lift rather than lower it and they use 14k swift springs on all 4 corners.

This setup makes the oem setup feel like jalopy garbage trash clown car suspension.

Sean, How much adjustment in ride height do you have with this set up? Is a 2" lift the max high? What is the max low? Below stock? That would be awesome if you could have a set up that went +/- 2" from stock depending on the season and tire selection.

Stock height to +4 but your axles (front ones) will pull apart before you get it that high.

Why would you lower a baja??

IIRC it was around 1200 shipped but that was over a year ago.

Anybody have any idea how much different the axlebacks are in length between stock Baja and a hawkeye Impreza? I have the stock axleback right now but I came across a Prodrive one that I can get sorta cheap.

It won't fit. The bajas wheelbase is at least 6 inches longer than any other subaru. Try to fit a wrx exhaust or exhaust part on a baja and you will see what I mean. Unless you can weld or have big bucks to pay someone to weld it will not fit. There is no cheaping out on this one.

What modification did you have to do, or did you have a shop fit it?
