Scrappy you went into a lot more depth than I did ha. I'm pretty new to all of this, so I'm not quite really sure what readings are normal and what aren't. Either way Adam has a zip w/ my logs from yesterday.
Here's some data from one of my 4th gear pulls: 3.8k - 6k rpm @ WOT DAM : held at 0.812 Knock : 0. Fine Knock : 0 to -6.33 Boost : Avg of 18.78psi Peak of 23.81psi @ 4163 rpm My factory boost showed a peak of 22.7psi. It looks like the majority of the boost spikes were from 4-5k. After 5k boost was between 18 and 20psi

Great post Miyagi
I should see if I have fine knock selected. Glad to see you are peaking like that but holding a nice average. I would bet I am doing exactly the same thing. Car feels wonderful. |

Yeah I'm wondering if the peaks are from the factory boost controller. I know a few people have said that their spikes were gone when using an aftermarket one.
But I agree, the car is immensely more fun to drive now. TBH I was a bit underwhelmed when first running the ots map from Cobb. |

Well the OTS map from COBB was very linear and gave no drama like the OEM tune which is a great daily driving tune, but is really geared toward sub 4500 rpm driving.
I will have a complete review of all my tunes done in a week or so. stock COBB Bren MAP |

So I just spoke with my tuner. The boost spikes are a results of the factory boost control solenoid. I highly recommend picking up a boost control solenoid from us. The factory boost control solenoid doesn't react fast enough and when boost comes on it takes a second to make an adjustment. Also the boost targets inputs are slowly converted to the EBCS. For those who have our current tune, if you do pick up a Grimmspeed EBC, we can revise the tune for free and send you a new one.

Made another dyno graph of my baseline, vs Cobb stage 1 OTS, vs MAP stage 1. Figured this would be useful as well.

Ian, since folks are asking about Boost, can you show us a boost graph.
Also can you ask if you will post up a clear pic of the boost curves vs RPM. THAt would be very helpful. |

Sure thing. I will see if I can get that put together tomorrow. I am just about to head out of the office.

That was my drive in this morning I got that -1.41 driving out of my neighborhood at less than 20 mph in 3rd at less than 10% throttle. So I think is nothing Never had any fine knock learn ever No DAM adjustments ever I saw the knock correction go to -1.05 for a split instant when I gave it a lot of pedal in 4th but it vanished instantly. Again I think that sounds normal. According to the COBB FAQ, temporary blips in Knock correction that coincide with dynamic pedal movement are not an issue if they go away immediately. Persistent Knock correction readings seems to be what we all need to worry about. I will let Ian and his team add any clarification to this. Last edited by SCRAPPYDO; 08-20-2015 at 10:37 AM. |

High gear low RPM there is going to be knock, there isn't enough engine speed for the fuel to properly combust. If there is any knock during low gear 2,500rpm and higher I would be concerned.
The timing down low is all still factory, timing has only be changed during WOT events. Quote:

Also wanted to share some more readings...
First was from my drive home after work. Roughly 80-85 degrees. 5th and 6th gear on the highway. Pretty much normal driving. And this is from this from my drive to work this morning. 65-69 degrees. Hard 5th gear pull followed by some WOT in 6th. I'm assuming the numbers from yesterday are fine since I never really got on it. And when I did get on it this morning everything looked/felt good. Car is so much more fun to drive. |

Thank you for the info! I appreciate it. From what Adam is telling me, these readings are normal for part throttle driving. However, if these were to show up during full throttle, and high RPM's, we would want to look into it further.

Flashed the new map last night. I only got to drive it for a bit last night but it felt good. I'll get some readings as soon as I can.

Great more data coming in. This is wonderful. My review should be up today.
One thing of note. I still have not registered ANY fine knock learn at all. I have not had DAM Below 1 yet either. I keep getting this annoying -1.41 on feedback knock at the weirdest times. This morning in 6th, at constant cruising speed at 2100 rpm it just appears. 0 0 0 0 0 -1.41 -1.05 -1.05 -.83 -.83 0 0 0 0 0 0 -1.41 appears and then the number trends back toward 0 in about 3 seconds while doing basically nothing but driving straight. No idea if this is real knock, of if the car is fooled by something. Again, my DAM has always been 1 and my fine knock correction has always always been zero. THe map feels just wonderful. For all you new guys, who just flashed put up your max boost your seeing. I want to see if everybody is hitting the same levels as I am: 23.57 |

So far in the week that I have had the tune, my max boost so far has been 22.7psi.

subscribed. I won't be flashing until after warranty but I'm excited for something with some gain and no abnormal or tune-induced knock. I only have one car after all.
