Completely missed this one - but they lasted break-in and lifted on the dyno.

I think I said it elsewhere, since MoFab doesn't do engine work I just bought an Outfront V4 Ultra short-block already machined for 1/2" headstuds.

Which reminds me that maybe I should sell the IAG block.

Hi again mate,

Just reading your thread, which clutch started slipping? I was considering buying the xclutch twin disc organic. What was the noise like of your xclutch? Any problems with it?

The XClutch 8" Twin Ceramic was slipping after maybe 6000 miles, 1 time at a drag strip with 6 runs, 1 track day, and 1 autox.

Yes, that one.

MoFab couldn't explain it, and rep from XClutch told me it "Wasn't meant for my kind of driving" ???

Anyway, they didn't have a rebuild kit (clutch discs) in the country so I dumped them and went back to a Competition Clutch.

The sound from the XClutch with the clutch pedal depressed was pretty loud.

Suprised they gave you that one when they have a pull type 9" ceramic sprung disc?

I think it was what was available at the height of the pandemic, don't recall the exact conversations but there were shortages on everything.

Ahhh true, makes sense then.

Still, that thing shouldn't have slipped! Cant believe they tried to blame it on your driving

Sweet, Do you mind sharing your dyno graph? Does your boost fall at high rpm?

Don't have boost on the graph, but on my boost gauge it sits around 29-30psi at 7500 on the street, so it falls a little.

Looks like nasioc stopped using their own image host, hopefully imgur works again

I'm really curious to see how much longer the powerband would hold with a 1.01 housing.

Going from 0.61 to 0.83 didn't move it - other than creating a slightly less streetable power curve, so I've got something else holding me back.

1.01 wouldn't be very fun at this altitude.

Red is 0.61, green is 0.83... Not apples to oranges since they don't stop at the same spot, but looks like it would trace identically.

I'm interested because i'm running a very similar setup with your turbos little brother and am looking to upgrade. Rotated G30-600 w/ .83 housing, 272's, valvetrain, pocket port, ethanol, etc. The only big difference is i run a ported NA intake manifold. My graph look a whole lot like yours but move it all about 500 rpms to the left. I have full spool of 30 psi by 4k rpms, peak tq by 4.6k rpms, peak hp @ 6300 rpms and by 6500 rpms it's just falling off.

I'm at the point where the only way to get more power is to upgrade the turbo. The G30-900/G35-900 are both on the list but there really isn't a lot real world info on how they perform. I'll gladly accept the powerband starting 500 rpms later if it means it will hold power out until 7500+.

If you're at sea level any of them will spool faster, and hold longer. So you could expect to see a fatter curve on the same set-up. I think the Density Altitude on that dyno was around 9000ft. Altitude is 5900ft.

Edit - I am fuel limited at 6500rpm+ in that I still have oem tank to bay fuel-lines. You can see a slight dip starting there. So that might be a bit of it.

I'm not at sea level but i'm not too far above it being on the east coast about 1.5-2 hours away from the ocean. I went ahead and did the lines from the tank to rails and back when i did the rest of the fuel system just so i'd never have to touch it again when i inevitably wanted more power.

Thanks for the input.

That's awesome. But you're supposed to be IN FRONT of the Porsche!

Beat 2 of them, they were on 275F 315R 100tw tires, with me on 255square 200tw.

So feel pretty good about that.

Also lost my tricked out Zebulon front splitter at 161mph in testing so I was missing a lot of front downforce for the race.

We built a plywood one in the pits that night with some wood from Lowes and a Jigsaw
