here you go

perrin rotated gt376r with the 82ar - 2800
perrin fmic ( can be diff i went with larger core) - 1250
850 or more injectors - 599
walbro fuel pump - 90
cobb v2 - 700
nice catback (invidia,hks,p&l,agency power) - 500
and a tune - 600

i made 408 awhp 425 tq at 22psi on 100oct
i made 387 awhp 355tq at 18psi on 93oct

with the meth i prolly wouldnt had to have the 100oct tune but i wasnt thinking back then...
i had a meth kit that i didnt put on but im kicking myself now...and it was a very concervative tune also...i think i spent just around 7k for everything....
your trans is okay unless your making mass mounts of power. engine internals are pushing it at around 500 but 400 is where youll wanna be

I understand the OP is talking about an 07 STi whats your point? Are you saying the 07 STi is a super-safe car? And so you know smartass, when I said body I meant a rollcage and other reinforcements...maybe you should let the adults do all the talking...go sit in a corner and color

for 400 horsepower, you don't even need to touch internals. The only transmission work I had was a Exedy twin plate clutch... and that was overkill. bigger Turbo, bigger I/C(not necessarily a top mount), turboback, bigger injecters, fuel pump, clutch, EM of some sort(I prefer Utec) & an intake should help.

I had 380 on pump gas with the superzilla 49, never got dyno'd on the 104 map I had. No internal work on my 04 and the 07's are built a little better.

I've done some pricing, but I just wanted to know what people end up paying for a 400hp build (ball park)

15 grand? Or can you get a much cheaper set-up than that?

check out the thread on maic forum. iag just had jorge from p and l motorsports protune 8 subes with all different kinds of set ups. dyno charts and mod listed for each car. but dont worry bout the numbers
safe and reliable hp is where its at. confidence that your cars not going to blow is better than saying i had a 400 hp car ( as it's on jack stands in the drive way ) hope that helps you out. my car is day#2 car#2 o7 sti.

With internals t's not a matter of if it will instantly explode, it's a matter of how long everything will last in the long run. You will experience much less wear and tear.

Look at the dates before you post a reply. That person may not even frequent the forum any more.

No one needs more power than a stage 2 STi. It's plenty, it's fun, it's safe for the engine. I used to think I needed more when I was younger and dumb. Now that I'm 33, have a kid, married for a long time, I can see that the car is fast enough for anyone and having a reliable car beats 400whp everyday.

Same here, 35 now and my stage 2 S4 is 450hp ish at the crank. Granted heavier than an STi by a fair bit, but I definitely don't need more power. Wring out 2nd gear and I could lose my license.

depends on your definition of needs lol. i'm 32. just got a house and starting a family. IF i were to go for more power, i wouldnt stop till i hit at least 500whp. that being said, the class i'm currently racing in i cant have more than 399. so getting e85 and turning the boost down a little is really perfect for me (06 sti, built motor, 20g turbo. pump gas, 377awhp/401awtq on iag's dynojet)

ive built my car and am slightly under 400 (377 on iag's dyno) and my setup with just e85 would hit 400 easily. if youd like to know what i paid i'm happy to let you know everything i have and what i paid approximately. just pm me.

that being said, i probably have 15k ish into the power to reliably put down the 377 i make.

Ha, I've been married for 33, and believe me, you get dumb again when you get older. I greatly enjoy my 400whp.

I always find the "you don't need that much power" posts so silly.

I drive my 672whp STi on the street just fine, and wind her out on on-ramps when I get the chance... Love it.

Generalizations, they don't ever apply to everyone. If you have the monetary means and time to work on your car when you have a young family, great. If this isn't your only means of transportation, great. But the more you modify, the more likely it is that things will need fixing, break, go wrong. If you have a family, they depend on you and you need a dependable car.

lol which is why i said depends on your definition. I do agree family comes first. and the simple "stage 2" setup can be plenty and is fun. but with the right parts, you can easily make 400whp reliably. (granted it's not always cheap to do so)

A good point -- I didn't buy my WRX until I was 47, and didn't mod it until the warranty was up. When I was in your position I drove a 1987 GL wagon. I'd say you've got it pretty good, lots of time ahead for the mod bug if it ever comes your way.

To be fair, your "400WHP" is on the Mainline heartbreaker ahaha. I bet your car would be around 450-470WHP on a Dynojet on E75.
