What does the high beam splitter that you installed do?

Allows for the projector and normal high beams to both work at the same time.

Do you plan on upgrading to the FX-R or are you happy with the DS2? I was thinking that if you have the mini Morimoto projectors installed then you dont have to cut the shroud to fit into the headlight housing, as compared to the FX-R which is larger. What im trying to get at here is do you think if I get the FX-R, will I have to customize the shroud to make it fit, or are the DS2 and FX-R gatling gun shroud the same size?

Shrouds (gatling gun, iris, etc.) are covers for the physical projector and will fit different size projectors differently. The retrofit source guys can point you in the right direction on which one will ultimately fit the application you select.

I went with the D2S setup after reading JDMSTA's comparison/reviews of them compared to the mini H1's. I am fairly well off when it comes to modding vehicles so the amount of trimming needed for installing these shouldn't be of much trouble at all. The D2S's will be more than enough to fill my needs, as I am pairing them with HIR high beams, and will probably never feel the need to upgrade these any further to the FX-R's.

I'm getting:

Bi-xenon FX-R Stage III Kit
Matsu****a Gen 5 ballasts
Morimoto 3Five 6000K D2S
LHD (North American Standard)
Gatling Gun
Relay: H11

I'm not sure if I need the resealing glue on such new headlights. Would also getting the high beam splitters be overkill for the FX-R?

You don't really need the resealing glue since the car is relatively new.

I'd go with lower colour temperatures than 6000k... The Philips 85122+ capsules are excellent.

I was actually looking into buying the Osram Xenarc 66240 CBI bulbs but the price is too much for me right now. I'll probably get it whenever one of my bulbs goes bad. I'm not in a hurry to get it.

I know its the brightest but i'm more of the bright white color person thats why I stick to 5000k and 3000k for the fogs which I hardly use. LOL!

Those are 5000k, they are too white to be 4300k? That looks awesome.

Wondering what people's preferences for 35w or 50w bulbs are? I want 50w for the extra light output but I'm kind of reluctant after reading about melted housings and burnt projector lenses. So what would you guys prefer?

I do love the 50w light output but I was scared so I went back to 35w but I'm still happy. I'm gonna retrofit my weekend/fun car 00' Integra Type R's JDM headlights with either the FX-R or EvoX-R and I'm gonna use my 50w 5000k with those retrofit. Can't wait to get them and retrofit it.

Did you take a picture of the car with the housing NOT painted? I was pondering on this, weird never figured out how they would look without the black matte paint. But, in either case these lights should had came like this from the Stealer! Then they would had ripped us off for another $1,200! I am going to this route for sure, just need to find the time to make this happen.

As with all light pics, they're relevant ONLY if taken with the same settings under same background lighting. Suffice to say the increase in lumens is very significant.

If you look at page 1, there's a few pics on there before I painted it.

I'm pretty sure you can but don't take my word for it. I never done it myself so I can't say I'm positive on that. I just use Krylon Indoor/Outdoor plastic paint.
