Torque bind,
Ive tried searching but I have found little info on the torue bind issue and its causes/repair.
Anyone got some links? I always ignore the threads on subjects I had no experience with and now I have questions, specifically what is the cause? Im guessing that the pressure used to active the center clutch is not released correctly.

I'm not familiar with '90 model years
(only 81-83 84-89ish & 00-02) ?All the tires are the excact same #'s, wear, & brand?(sizing can vary from brands) ?Is this a problem in a strait line or only cornering? ?Auto or manual? I'm guessing it is possibly a tire problem all PSI within spec.? on a '02 Subaru recomends no more than 1/4" varance on Circumfrance (the distance AROUND the tire) Last edited by GLwagon; 06-25-2002 at 08:59 PM. |

All tires are within spec of each other. The car is a 90 but the transmission is a 95.
Im trying to find the details about it to figure out wether my 91 TCU is driving the solenoid on the transmission incorrectly or if in fact it has the torque bind issue. For details, it acts like my tercel did in 4 wheel drive. The tercel had no center differential it was a straight connection. |

? is the ring & pinion ratio in the trans the same as the orignal...
I know subaru has a couple ratios. (if the rear end doesn't match you could swap that too) being an auto & AWD not 4x4 you should be able to put in a fuse under the hood possibly to dissengauge the rear "power" I don't honestly know if it was a feature in '90. |
