I'm definitely curious to hear more about the 2.35 and the G30. What do you have done for the internals/heads?

The motor is a deshele built long rod destroked 2.5 closed deck 14mm head studs and all the goodies, the exact cam specs I haven’t been told as yet but it’s very lumpy,I’m still waiting on more dyno time since the last session when I have more info I’ll post it

I’d like to know more about your spoolinator kit with this turbo . I really want to stay in the stock location and not go rotated . My motor is currently at CSS , going closed deck .

What exactly are you looking for besides the basic information you can find from Garrett, ATP-turbo and or Full-Race?

looking for numbers, spool time on the street. I primarily do autocross and trackcross, initially i was leaning towards a 3071 gen 2, but i'm considering these too. ideally id like something that can hit in the area of 450-500whp/tq with the fastest spool possible (on e85) . i understand there are limitations but it seems hard to find what these are actually doing minus the speculation. ive found very limited info on them. and only like one guy running them.

Well that 3071 gen2 is a great option, that's what I a planning to switch to when I finally kill off my 3076 gen1. I have also been keeping an eye on the G-series but so far I have not seen anything to pull me away from the GTX line-up.

Yea that's Ibrahim's car, super cool dude. The G30-770 just wasn't reaching his power goals lol. He's since upgraded to a G30-900.

Here's another video of inside the car, you can see it's takes off around 3900 rpms and pull to redline. I would like to that turbo on E85

Another video of them on GR STi

I am currently in the process of building my motor and will be using the G30-900. I will share the results once I have them. Car is currently at Surgeline in Portland.

Build details:
IAG-#700 longblock
IAG TGV deletes
Cobb fuel rails
1300 injectors
Fuel Lab Fuel Pressure Regulator
AEM 320 In Tank Fuel Pump (may also be doing a Radium Engineering MPFST
Dual Walbro 460 in Surge Tank pumps)
Cobb FMIC
Killer B oil Pickup
Killer B Holy EL Header/up-pipe
Group N engine mounts
Cobb AOS
G30-900 Turbo
Custom downpipe and dumptube

This will be a street car so chose not to go to the G35 for now in hopes I would get a bit quicker spool on the G30. I can always go bigger if I get bored

cool build, you know my thinking is that its going to be like how the gtx 3076 compared to the gtx 3576 will be, you might get more out of the 35 turbine but that is my theory

i'm excited to see that build^^

ive been searching hard and trying to decide if i should go with a g30-660 or 770......i really hope more people start posting them here in depth. i'd like to see how they spool, would be especially cool if there was a spool comparison to the gtx gen2 counterparts.

What's your end goal with the car? I literally was torn between those two but ended going with the G30-770.

I'm really curious where these all hit full boost in 3rd gear. Full boost at around 4000 was something I got used to pretty quickly, but I'd hate to have the powerband get any narrower.

Yeah, I agree. I'd do either G30-770 or G35-900.

I'd estimate about 200-300rpm spool difference between the G30-660 and G30-770. And the 660 will be a snappier. I think power difference between the two would be ~50-70whp on race gas. Street car, I'd say 660. Road course car/drag, I'd go 770.

end goal is something that spools quickly and doesnt let up. i typically use it for autocross and trackcross. Ideally i'd like to have in the 450-500 whp range (dynojet, sae correction, in va, a hair above sea level, and on e85) but i dont want to get too caught up in peak numbers. i have a built motor, but it is not closed deck, and as expensive as it was, i dont want to get caught up in needing another, so i'd like to stay around 25psi of boost. spool is incredibly important, but with trackcross i typically will stay in the powerband pretty well. before these came out the gtx3071 gen2 seemed to be the best option. now i'm debating on a g series instead lol.

also an edit, I do plan on going rotated.

further edit - car is a 2006 sti with a 2.5 "stage 2 tuff" iag shortblock. oem heads. Full bolt ons. still on a tmic (spearco). i'm happy to share anymore info about it if it'll help or if someone is curious

dang, for 300rpm i'd just go with the 770 lol. it is a trackcross/autocross car now, and i'll likely end up moving into road courses as my budget allows, but it will still be a street car, even if it only sees the street like 10x per year lol

Well, biased on the goals you have posted I see ZERO reason to go larger just cuz. I run a gen 1 GTX3076 it seems to be really similar to the gen 2 GTX3071 for performance. I made 500whp at 25psi on E-85, you stated your goal is 450-500 at 25psi so you could easily make that happen on the 3071 gen 2 or similar sized G series.

The main thing to keep in mind is that with stock heads power WILL drop off after 6500rpm so you really need to maximize what you produce in the lower range to make the most out of the set-up. IMO

exactly lol. I was wanting the x3076 first, then ended up with a 20g cause i blew my stock turbo (yay foreign object damage) and when the gen2 came out i knew the 3071 would work well and still make the power i wanted but spool up faster. with the g series coming out the big question now is will a g series be able to make that power at that boost level while spooling faster than the 3071gen2. i know i'll likely have iag build a rotated kit, and we will see if i decide to stay top mount or go fmic.

and i do understand that power will start to fall at 6500. i will likely have to just stick with that for now and shift around 6500 to stay into the powerband. eventually i would like to build the heads. havent done too much research into that at the moment. i may run 272 cams but i'm not sure if that would be the right choice as i know it would help mid range and a bit into the upper end, but id lose some down low. but that's a whole different subject.
