Well OTS may be even farther out... I will be happy to have the possibility at all. The cost of the tune is well worth it.

The tune constantly adjusts to meet what's in your tank, one tune! Not switching tunes everytime you get different gas. Your not always worried about where the next e85 station is. This.

I'm willing to shell out the $$$ to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors, would prob do other stuff as well, if needed.
Some sort of OTS option for flex would be really nice. I only know of one pro tuner here anyway.

Not to mention you have to get a protune for every blend of e85. Flex fuel just makes sense.

We have made good progress on the DIT projects, but there is still a lot of work to do. Unfortunately, still no definitely timeline for flex fuel. We have not forgotten and are glad to see there are so many people excited about it!

Completely understandable. We are very late to the game and we are aware of that. We will take that as a challenge to win you back when flex fuel is released with a smooth and slick implementation that is feature rich, fool proof, thoroughly tested, and easy for tuners to set up

I bought an AP recently without properly researching the FlexFuel issues, and am considering returning it but hearing from Chris and other inquiries that it actually is going to get worked has me leaning to keep it. They do seem to be an up front company.

I'm willing to Alpha/Beta test for you, including any required mods.

i was tuned on e77, ran e85 from april through october, back on pump now. my gauge read as high as 83, as low as 72, logged those times no issues. i wont run it all year long though, i will get a e70 map from my tuner this spring though

Because ECUTek "Flex Fuel" isn't really flex fuel. You tune for a few percentages of E85/E10 blended in, and set that in the map then the ECU just picks the tables closest to what ethanol percentage you have in the flex fuel sensor. It doesn't do any blending like a true flex fuel setup.

For example, you have a E10, E30, E60, E85 map.

You have half tank of E10, and half a tank of E85. For arguments sake, the flex fuel sensor sees E40.

The ECU will pick the E30 map and run that. It doesn't interpolate between E30 and E60 and blend the tables.

Better than any other option right now short of going standalone, but Cobb's solution is supposed to be a true flex fuel setup, where it will blend tables between different ethanol percentages.

Thanks!! I did not know that maybe I will just stick to the 91 Pro tune and call it a day. I am not in a rush by any means but I thought the EcuTek was a true Flex fuel. Thanks for the write up

Talk to Bill at Delicious Tuning. I've mentioned him in this thread a couple times. I have an 08 STi with legitimate flex fuel using EcuTek and Bill's FF kit. I can pump whatever blend of E85 is available, throw in some 91 for 'better economy'... it adjusts accordingly. The point is, the only true FlexFuel option available for GD/GR WRX & STi (and other applications, click link below) as of right now is via EcuTek and DeliciousTuning's kit.
