For repairs, I'm currently running a 'filled' head. Had the journals coated, and then I lapped them back down to size, as the peaks in the aluminum....because I was curious how it would work.

How has this worked out? I may send a set of heads to IAG, as they say they can fix them by honing if they are not too bad.
At my worst spot (typical spot on the large diameter journal at the front) where metal particles and the belt/gear forces seem to collide) which is about 30°-45° wide, I measure .0012" out of tolerance. The rest of the circumference is barely in tolerance. If they can take a half-thousandth to one-thousandth off both faces, then it should clean up nicely.
I'm going to present this info to IAG and see what they say.

5 valve Yz450f heads do the same thing bad, the cam will sink and the journal will mushroom out into the bucket area until the valve will not shut. Expensive to repair, expensive to replace.
